Best cheap tar remover

I bought Trix, and it seems to work well on dissolving stuff built up in the wheel barrels, but I cannot get it to dissolve the tar built up on the car itself. Suggestions?

Trix is only average as a tar remover so you may find that the stuff on the wheels is more oil like than tar (which Trix will easily deal with) but when faced with heavier tar, it struggles. Only option is to keep trying or get a dedicated tar remover.

As stated above...kerosene.

Cheap and effective.

Give WD40 a try:thumbup:

WD-40 or Goo Gone. I've always got one/both around the house.

Mineral Spirits or Kerosene is the cheapest. I pour it on a towel, swab the affected areas and wait, wipe off. Whoever said TRIX probably thinks filet mignon is the cheap steak too! (sarcasm, no need to get mad!)

I use dx-330 from ppg, micro-fiber, 3 or 4 passes and its melting off. Followed by rinse and wash.
