So I already have a favorite (one of these five), but I wanted to see which one actually held up the best. Included is the popular Optimum Opti-Bond, CG Silk Shine, Adam's SVRT, Auto Finesse Satin, and Black Magic spray just for the heck of it. The less popular Smart Wax Smart Dressing was included as well.

Each dressing was applied with a different applicator and only got one coat each.

Here is the bare tire cleaned with CG All Clean + followed by Adam's APC.

Sorry for the shadow.

Here is Opti Bond next to Silk Shine.

Here is my tire:

Any predictions on what lasts longest? Shortest?

Adam's won't last that long but I love the way it looks. My vote is for Opti-bond. Im not sure about the rest of them.

No clue really since some of them are otc stuff. I'll through out a shot in the dark and say cg or Adams wears out first, and smart wax lasts the longest (don't even know what it is but why not?).

Only Black Magic is OTC. Smart Wax is CG's sister company.

Well I definitely failed lol. I doubt that prediction will be true, I'll back he long shot of black magic then ;).

The Adam's will last the longest, because I believe it has polymers in it.

After today which included driving on damp roads, there were no visible changes. Also, the car got a flat tire today, but luckily not this one.

Crappy photo which is why they all appear more dull than they really are, but you can still see each one is still distinctly there. The car is parked outside 24/7.

As a reference, Auto Finesse is the large section up top and black magic is at the 9 o'clock position.

Are CG Silk Shine and Smart Wax Smart Dressing actually the same product with a different label?

Chemical Guys manufactures and sells SmartWax products side by side in their Gardena, CA Headquarters

I agree with LaSHOOOOSH.

Tuf Shine exceeds them all in terms of durability. 1-2 months for Tuf Shine, rain or sun. The back tires will last 2-3 months but the front tires 1 month most. Cost is higher for the kit. But, you get the cleaner, clearcoat, sponge and the best tire brush I've seen.

You should try Tuf Shine. It's impressed me on how long it lasts..

I was planning on trying Tuf Shine, but I moved to LA and have to parallel park constantly, which inevitably leads to scuffs, that would require touch-up with TS.

On the other hand, it hasn't rained here in over two months, so tire dressings hold up a lot longer than in other climes.

Tonite I am headed down to the Meguiar's Headquarters in Irvine, CA for their Thursday Night Open Garage. I plan on machine scrubbing my tires with the Cyclo type attachment and hopefully, using Mike Stoops FLEX PE-14 with a CarPro Denim Pad to knock out some more Orange Peel!

In the pic which one is top left? Also middle right?

Referring to the picture in post 10, the large section up top is Auto Finesse with Black Magic directly to the left. Opti Bond is the small section at the bottom. Adam's is to the right of Opti Bond. CG is bottom left and Smart Wax is from the 3 o'clock position and up.

I really love the way V.R.P looks on the wheel when I apply it!!!!
I tried Blue Guard II from CG and I hate it! I have a gallon of Hyper Coat too!
