I was thinking about getting this polisher. i now have the flex 3401.
would like to know how many use the griots 3 inch and how it is

Great for small areas as well as using carpet and leather DA brushes. Not huge correcting power, but gets the job done with microfiber pads or yellow foam.

I have the GG 3" and I use it for minor spots that are scratched and polishing the headlights. But the most I use it for is applying carnauba waxes onto the car. The DA is small enough to move in tight areas and IMO a DA can apply wax much faster, spread more thin and consistent and have better results than by hand. I just blip the trigger when I have the Pad in the jar to get the wax.

PS: for $99 you can't go wrong and it has a lifetime warranty so if anything goes wrong just return it and get a new one. That being said....I have had my GG 3" for over a year and have not experienced any issues. One thing that should not worry you is that it tends to run a little "hot"....again, not an issue.

wow i didn't think about a brushes. do they sell them here?

When I was in the market I did quite a bit of reading and research and concluded that the 3" GG would only provide correction at the highest speed setting and was only good for spreading sealant or wax on the lower settings. I ended up purchasing the Rupes mini and an more than satisfied with its performance. Food for thought.

:iagree:It's like comparing the Flex to a PC.

wow u guys r gonna make me spend more . lol just kiddin i appreciate ur feed back

Same thought I had when making my decision! Lol! The Rupes mini is the Lexus of 3"-4" polishers. It may cost a bit more but is much more powerful, smooth, quiet, and much less labor intensive to operate. I use mine quite often and makes short work of intricate areas. It also works phenomally on motorcycles! My advice would be to either bite the bullet and get a mini or save up for a bit longer....and get a mini! Lol!

ok thanks a lot for ur feed back

i have been thinking about this for a while and quite curious.. i wonder how well the GG3 would work for correction with the megs xtra-cut disc if it was trimmed down to a 3" pad (it only comes on 5" and 6"). there's no foam in between the velcro and microfiber like the megs DA mf discs, and it should rotate a lot easier...

I should have listen to you and some of the others . I was to cheap to go with the rupes and am sorry now. i went with the 3"gg. tried it and not to good. on the lower setting it barley spins.the slightest pressure and it stops. Do you think AG can do something ? to be honest
i never had much luck with them.

They might take it back for an upgraded Rupes Mini. Give them a call, all they can say is no.

i will give a call tomorrow when they are open. thanks I should have listen, thats what the fourm is about .lol

Why not get the 6 inch GG and a 3 inch backing plate? More power; more flexibility. Obviously this is more expensive than the GG3. From what I've read, the GG3 is really underpowered when it comes to correction. The GG6 is very nice, and it works quite well with a 3 inch backing plate. I've used it with a 3.5 inch plate and some CCS pads for the smaller/tighter areas. Works very well, IMHO.

He already had a Flex so no need to get a GG6, but since he started a thread asking for feedback maybe should have taken advice of us that have a Rupes 75 3" as it's far superior to the gg3" :dblthumb2::buffing:

Don't feel bad. A lot of what I've learned in life has been the hard way! Lol! Give AG a call tomorrow and maybe they will help you out with an upgrade.

Not trying to pile on, trust me but everyone knows the 3" GG is to be used on speed setting #6 only.

I'm looking forward to using my new 3" flat purple LC foamed wool pads w/ my 3" GG machine very soon, should be a great combo when used w/ Meg's UC or M101!

Sent from my SPH-M930 using AG Online

I was in the same boat as you, but after upgrading from my PC to an LHR 15(my PC which I used both 3" and 4" pads on too) since I already had that option I went with the Rupes. Just sold my PC to a buddy so I was able to recoup part of my investment and he go a great deal too. The Rupes 75 really kicks it up to while different level.
