He is gonna learn a painful lesson

I find giving advice ends badly. But kudos to you for trying.

And why was a guy who spend way more than he should obviously trying to save a buck in HF?

Too bad the guy hasn't listened to you... But it's only bad to him.

I've also been warned not to give advice to everyone, but I just can't keep myself from commenting. Calm down, you did your part.

Like someone said, you can't fix stupidity... But you can fix the holograms for him, just remember to put in a high quote!

Thanks for sharing this story,

Kind Regards.

The guy has no idea who you are, and doesn't know you can damage paint when polishing. You come to him and tell him one machine will burn his paint... I am not surprised he did not listen. People assume if something is dangerous to use it will be written on the box or something. And also people do not know how polishing work, they think it's like waxing, how can you damage anything with wax?

I don't think the guy is stupid, and yet he might actually learn a lesson. Unfortunate for him ;(

Did you see what kind of pad he got for the rotary? If he went with a foam pad I am not worried. If he went with wool....

You did the right thing... regardless of the outcome! You could have just gone on with your business and never reached out to the poor fellow. It will be a hard lesson especially if he screws it up and does not have enough clear to make it right... or even worst if he burns through the paint!

I bet he burns his paint and goes right through the clear on the edges, then tries to claim the store sold him a bad machine and demands money from them!
