Long story short I have a friend acquaintance that had part of his car repainted and while at the dealer they washed it. So now it supposedly has swirls and all the goods That go along with dealer washes.
He came to me for help, and told me he would rather me handle than someone else that lacks the detail and knowledge.
The car is a red 2011 camaro
So far he says it has over spray from the paint shop so that calls for a clay bar.

So basically I'm looking at these steps

Wash

Iron x (Not sure if that is needed)

Clay

Paint correction
(more than likely a 1 step)

LSP application

What do you guys think i should charge him ?
He lives about 1 hour away as well.

All comments welcome !

exterior only , one step polish , 1h away.
in my books is around 350 , max 400 if i run into any surprises or he has other requests

If hes a friend id say $150.

he is more of an acquaintance. Met him in a car club awhile back but never really stayed in touch really.

in my wildest dreams. But anythings possible. Thanks man

Well, 2hrs of travel time would be $70-$100, and the actual work would be $300-$350, exterior only (inside glass cleaned). So My quote would total $370-$450. Final cost would be determined upon job completion.

I'd say $150 sounds decent. Its low but decent. What would change things for me is the 1he drive.

Either he drives the car to you or he covers the cost of you traveling.

Also remember if your not known, people won't necessarily come to you, because they don't know you. They either have never heard of you or already have a guy.

So paying your dues is something that a lot of times has to be done. Probably in a lot of other professions than detailing.

Could be wrong :dunno:

It depends on how much of a friend you are talking, If its a best friend, I would do as much as you can off. However, if its a good person/ guy in car club, I would say maybe 25 to 30 percent depending on how bad the car is, what you could do. Also, I would go directly to the service department at that dealer and the manager and advise him/her that they are not helping in washing their clients cars.
