Been happily using Zaino system for years on my BMWs, but recently switched to Blackfire Wet Diamond and Blackfire Clear Crystal (after first claying the car). Although very happy with Zaino, I just got the bug to try something new that would give good results and be easier to apply than Zaino. Haven't washed the car (it is garaged here in SoFL) in about three weeks, and just had it in an outside parking lot for a week. A lot of construction in the area so the car was really caked with dirt. Anyway, I washed the car and dried with MF towels. No need for any further work on the car as it came out just the way it was when I finished the switchover-excellent water beading, deep glossy look, smooth as can be. I know that other products would probably do the same, but I must say that I'm truly impressed with these "newer" products...Only want to see how long they last before I have to do a redo.

Thanks for sharing! I don't know for sure which Zaino products you used, but if you didn't polish of compound before using the Blackfire, all you essentially did was top the existing Zaino products. So hard to really say how the two different brands compare.

With that said, I used Zaino on both my Mustangs and was extremely impressed. I too got the "itch" to try these products when I came across AutoGeek. I'm very happy with these products, especially Pinnacle. For me, its hard to compare or say which is "better". Zaino and the AG house brands are all spectacular! However, I think you'll find that Zaino lasts a little longer. Not that big of a deal though. :)

Throw some Blackfire BlackICE on!

Claying removed the Zaino...

Hey, flycaster...that sounds exactly like what i did on my 335 coupe up here in Tampa! Used Zaino for years and wanted to try something else. Have loved BF ever since.

Beautiful looking Zed 4!

Thank you.

Yes & Yes. It's not just for black cars either. I applied it to my friends Redfire Mustang GT - really enhanced the metallic flake in his paint. Blackfire Midnight Sun is another amazing wax.

BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Montan Sealant Wax, best black car wax, wax for black cars, wax for black paint

If it is a wax, I don't use waxes. Also, my car's paint is not metallic. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

I doubt that claying removed all of the Z2/Z5. BTW nice Bimmer.

As far as I know, claying does the job...as does alcohol. Nonetheless, car looks good and it looks as though the Blackfire bonded.

I too was a former Zaino Guy Z-2, Z-6, Zaino Scratch remover...etc. But I found out about AutoGeek through web searching and have been with them for the majority of their products that they carry.

As for Blackfire there Blackfire Wet Diamond Polymer Spray is the BEST QD IMO. 281 convinced me to try out the Blackfire BlackICE which will be here soon. I will try that out on my buddies Black 2007 Shelby GT.

As for AGO...they carry great products and Blackfire is 1 of them. I no longer even have Zaino as a favorite as I feel AGO carries better products!

Welcome to the cult of BlackFire! The Beemer looks outstanding. Definitely 2nd the Bf polymer spray - use it after washing and keeps the protection and shine up.

Big statement! I'm assuming that includes Z-6? Thats the only product I still use from Zaino, other than their clay. So you feel it offers more than Z-6?

Not trying to start a debate, I'm honestly curious. If you are willing to make that big a statement, I might have to check it out!

Would love to hear your thoughts on the two. Also looking forward to your comparison of Souveran and Synergy! ;)

I did a side-by-side comparison when I switched to Blackfire. I did a comparo of 303 Speed detailer, Z-6 and Blackfire WDPS. Zaino. I was looking for mainly less streaking and glossiness afterwards.

Do not get me wrong Zaino Z-6 is an excellent product, however, the Blackfire Wet Diamond was very hard to leave any streaks whether my car be hot or cool to the touch. BF WD left no streaks. Zaino I had to spray twice. The 303 SD was great too but not as glossy as BF WD or Z-6. Again, this is just my opinion and I am sure others may see it differently.

As for the Souveran and Synergy (and now Black Fire Black Ice) I can blame Smack, 281, Pro 4 X and AGO for the wax testing. All 3 gave great reviews on all 3 waxes so I bought all 3 and I am going to try them on 3 different cars. My friends are real lucky. As for the 3 mentioned and AutoGeek I hate them because I end up buying the waxes because of them and then AGO comes out with a sale to entice me!!

I know its just a Ploy by those 3 guys and AGO to conspire against me and force me to buys the waxes mentioned!!! Shame on them.....LOL!!! Grrrr!!!! All kidding aside, I will be trying Synergy on my car, Souveran on my Girlfriends car and Blackfire Black Ice on my Buddy's Shelby GT. I will post picks of each.

Thanks for asking StangFan25...BTW, when anyone on this site makes a recommendation I usually will consider it as most guys on this site are excellent detailers and have had some experience with the products mentioned.

Im the MAN

Z6 is a QD and is not as durable as Blackfire Wet Diamond Polymer Spray
Z8 might be closer to WDPS.

I used Z-6 for years, and i mean years. I was one of the guys who piled on Sal for not offering it in quantity packaging. I came to love that stuff but have found Finish Kare #425! I use that after every wash on top of BFWD and it's both amazing and economical.

Z-8 was even more amazing but will now try WGPS as the equivalent. I do like "family" related enhancers.
