Detailing a brand new car. Are these the correct steps to take and items to use?

This list is in no particular order, just focused on the correct items, mainly. Please let me know if anything is wrong or missing.

Wash – DETAIL MASTER Blue Chenille Knobby Mitt, Dawn Kitchen soap to strip any wax, if no wax, then use Meguiar's

Dry – Dry Me A River Jr. Waffle Weave Towel

Clay – Clay Bar, Quick Detailer & 16 x 24 MASTER CLEAN Premium Light Blue Waffle Weave Towel

Compound (Possibly not needed, try M205 first)(Speed: 5-6) – M105, Orange Pad & 16 x 16 DETAIL MASTER PRO Split Purple-nality (Dual Pile)

Polish (Speed: 4-5) – M205, White Pad, 16 x 16 DETAIL MASTER PRO Everest 800

IPA Wipedown – NiteRyder, Isopropyl Alcohol bottle

Wax (Speed: 3-4) – Blue Pad, Collinite #845 & 16 x 16 DETAIL MASTER PRO Eagle Edgeless Blue

Windows – 16 x 16 DETAIL MASTER PRO Premium Glass and Window Towel, Invisible Glass

Interior – Vacuum, Simple Green or 303, 16 X 16 Premium Blue DETAIL MASTER Microfiber Terry Towel

Tires: Tire Brush, Blue Home Depot Microfiber Towels, Tire Shine and Tire Swipes
 
Skip the Dawn. You'll be using clay bar. What about Iron-X?

Is this a brand new car or a new to you car? As far as compound,, put it in the sun and look to see how bad the swirls are, you may be able to do just fine with a good polishing. Why use simple green on inside? unless you have some really dirty stuff? I hear the 303 is great stuff to use on everything. Carpets,,, if bad try tough stuff and the hand cleaning method.

I don't have Iron X at the moment. Is there anything similar that can be bought locally?

It's a brand new car. Simple Green because it's an all purpose cleaner and my 303 hasn't come in yet.
 
I get lint from those towels. I use them to wipe polish but I bought lower nap towels to wipe off wax. They don't leave lint behind
 
The wax removal towels are from pakshak. Com. I think they're called silver surfer. They're really smooth
 
86 the Simple Green....it's still very harsh even when diluted to low levels

No need to dry between the wash and clay. Save yourself at least 10-15 minutes there.

IPA...can't tell if you are considering using full strength? You don't need anything higher than 10-15%. Most store bought IPA seems to be 50%, 70% or 90%.

nothing wrong with a OTC inside detailer like megs matte, should be fine for a new car
 
I've detailed half a dozen cars recently and here's what I've done; great results. I wash with ONR, Iron-X, Pinnacle clay bar with ONR @ lubricant dilution, maybe Optimum II on black cars, wax/seal. A new car really shouldn't need compounding, I haven't found the need to polish white and lighter colored cars. Having said that, I did have to do some compound work on my new black Rav4 because the morons at the dealership totally screwed the clear bra installation...3 times.
 
I've seen lots of new cars that needed compounding due to lot monkeys with brushes on poles and pressure washers.
