Up Close & Personal: BLACKFIRE Total Trim & Tire Sealant

Two things, both dumb....

Can you post a pic of the consistency of the gel on the pad? For curiosities sake.

Next question, could one use this on engine trim pieces and can it withstand the heat in there?

Thanks.

Here you go Chris. :dblthumb2:

I think I will have to try this product out in the future as well.

I wonder how it would compare to a product like Prima Infinity?

Prima Infinity is a great product, however BLACKFIRE Total Trim & Tire Sealant will outlast it. Here's why:

Prima Infinity is a dressing; BLACKFIRE Total Trim & Tire Sealant is a sealant. A dressing needs to regularly be applied (bi-weekly basis depending on the product.) A trim sealant/coating lasts for several months with only one coat.

This 50/50 shot alone makes me want to pick up a bottle of BLACKFIRE TT&TS:

Looks awesome Nick! To borrow one of your phrases; you really knocked one out of the park with this review :dblthumb2:

This stuff does look this good, 50/50 shots don't lie, I am hoping Nick dresses up my new truck with some! :props:

My fingers are crossed for you, Meghan! :autowash:

Hey Nick,

It's a treat to see a product that has so many uses and the durability the Blackfire products are legendary for. Blackfire Total Trim & Tire Sealant seems user friendly and to apply requires only a basic foam pad.

The before and after photos are amazing and I like how even the body moldings look after it's applied...

It'll be part of my next order.....:props:

OH, who's doing the photography for you?

Thanks Nick!

I've got some in my cart as well, just debating between 4oz or 8oz.....really wanting to try this in my engine bay and tires. My trim is coated.

You don't debate between a 4 and 8 oz. of Crystal Seal....8 oz. is a no brainer! ;)

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts Bobby!

just bought a 8oz, hope it is the missing link I have been looking for !!!!

Sorry if I missed this, but hows the durability on this?

I been using WG exterior trim sealant, but this one looks very .... creamy compare to super watery WG trim sealant.

Interested in trying this product.

I've been using this for a few months......my truck has black plastic door handles......keeps them fairly black and beads water for a couple of months per application. Also used on my tires...same result

I don't know if I'd call it "creamy". It might be thicker than some products, but it's no where near being lotion-like.

I apply it to all of the hard plastic trim and exterior rubber seals on my VW and wife's Toyota. In those cases I see roughly 4~6 months protection. I find it lasts longer on the hard plastic than rubber for some reason.

As much as I like it on those cars, I've found it totally ineffective on the Mazda one of my children drives. The trim is in not quite as good of shape and I found this product to totally disappear when applied. No matter how heavy I put it down, it simply shows no sign of being there as soon as the applicator passes over...strangest thing I've ever seen. My only assumption is there is a certain point where the plastic is oxidized enough that this product won't work and something else is needed.

It's most definitely a thicker product compared to Wolfgang (which is not thick at all). Durability varies depending on the vehicle, but usually anywhere from 3 months to a whole year.

What year and model Mazda?
