Made the 2" Electric Polisher!

How about covering the extensions with a length of small rubber tubing/pipe?

With the tubing on....how would you tighten the extension to the BP, each other and the GG3 ?

I guess if the tubing was stiff enough you could slit it up the side, slip it on and tape the cut.

Be careful Art. If you keep working on your invention everyone will have to buy a Hernandez polisher to go along with their Rupes and Flex.

Thank you for the words of caution, and the Hernandez polisher does have a nice ring to it.

So finished and I am happy with my new creation. (Wasn't able to have any one help me make a video btw)

I did shorten the bar by cutting it with the hacksaw I bought and 2 couplers is plenty, plus I always have the option of increasing or decreasing the length.

I used D151 and a polishing pad btw.

Now I need to figure out how to cut the pads so precise like the ones I got from Kevin Brown. Any ideas guys?

I would like to add that if anybody attempts to make these on their own, then it is at their own risk. Since this is my first one and it is still yet to be fully tested. It is my prototype. :buffing:

Great Job

Looking forward to seeing it at Meguiar's TNOG

Not sure about the exact throw of the 3" GG. I know most polishers have 8mm so I thought this one did too.

What kind of car is that? Never seen that model before. ;)

It's not a car, It's a fridge and given the fact that I doing work mobile now. What happens if I get thirsty? You know staying hydrated is very important when detailing.

I wouldn't want a customer seeing me reach for a refreshment when I am at their house and seeing my fridge dull and unpolished at their house. :coolgleam:

"Never Dull and Always Shiny" is a good motto for me, since I am a paint tech.:welcome:

So question guys, here on AGO and detailing friends on FB have talked about the tool maybe not being balanced.

I am confused as to what balanced means when talking about a tool like this?

and how can I check the tools balance?

Out of balance, similar to when you don't get a polishing pad centered properly on the BP...the machine will wobble and feel out of balance and difficult to control.

This condition can be exacerbated by extending the working distance between the machine and the pad as you have done with the extensions.

Maybe you can shoot a video of the machine in action without the extensions and a video with the extensions in place?

That "bar" is threaded rod. Will we be seeing the "Hernandez Polisher" for sale soon at Autogeek?

Phew... thank you very much Setec, made it just in time to edit it. :props:

I've been having trouble using this forum picture gallery and not sure why it posted the info here since I made a dedicated thread for The Hernandez Polisher.

Thanks again friend :dblthumb2:
