Hey everyone, I was recently trying to upload some pictures and seem to be having some problems. I read Mike's how to article about uploading and followed the steps perfectly. I have also posted a few pics on this forum here before so I know it worked at one point. When I select the photos I want to upload and specify the album I want them to go to nothing happens. I use google chrome and it tells me the pictures are uploading, once it gets to 100% it says my pictures are uploaded. When I go to the album where I wanted my pictures nothing is there. No pictures anywhere in fact. Any ideas?

If the file size is too large they won't upload. My articles on this topic teach people how to resize their photos to 800 pixels wide.

Did you do this?

E-mail me a picture and I'll tell you what the issue is.

I'd rather see you upload to our gallery as Photobucket pictures always disappear over time and turn threads useless.

:props:

Hey I got your picture, the file size is freaking HUGE!

It's 4608 pixels wide and 3440 pixels tall

It's hard to explain to anyone reading this just how huge the size of this picture is except to say that I have 24" monitors and I have to scroll both horizontally and vertically forever to see the entire pictures.

Now compare the above description to this picture and notice no matter what electronic device you're using to view the forum you can see this picture without having to scroll either horizontally or vertically.

This pictures is 800 pixels wide...

(Height doesn't matter when you use EZ Thumbnails and set it up like I show in my article)

Here's my article with PICTURES that show you how to use EZ Thumbnails. I'm guessing you read the article about how to actually UPLOAD and INSERT but missed the article on resizing.

How to resize your photos before uploading to a photo gallery

Here's what I've been telling guys for years now on discussion forum...

IF you're going to be a "forum guy" whether it's on a detailing forum or a sewing forum, and then invest the time to teach yourself how to work with pictures.

It's not that hard.

At one time I didn't know how to work with pictures to make the show up in a thread like above so I took the time to teach myself.

You don't even have to do all the ground work my three articles show you how. This article has both text and pictures with text boxes that show you exactly what to do and why you're doing it.

It's not that hard...

How to resize your photos before uploading to a photo gallery

If you need help or get stuck... I'm happy to help you. Just give me a call when you're behind your computer.

I'm just as happy to help someone seriously interested in how to work with pictures on a forum as I am to show them how to detail cars.

And when you learn how to take the HUMONGOUS pictures off your camera's memory stick and resize them to a sane image size like above and the "insert" them, (not the lame way of attaching pictures), into a thread... everyone benefits...

:)

Here's the deal with Photobucket...

When you use up all your free space you'll start deleting old pictures to make room for new pictures. When you do this you leave a trail of missing pictures that looks like
one of these three pictures....

If you sign-up with Photobucket for a PRO ACCOUNT, then you get more space but now you have to pay, that is --> $$$$$$ for it the rest of your life to keep your pictures showing up.

When you stop paying... then you get this...

With your free membership to the AGO forum you get a gallery that you can use for free but in order to make good use of a server's HARD DRIVE somewhere on the Internet we set the uploading parameters to not accept HUMONGOUS files size pictures.

Your camera takes HUGE file size pictures.

But using EZ Thumbnails and using the techniques I share in my article it's fast and easy to simply resize them to a SANE size.

I do this everyday... it's not that hard... all the pictures I posted in the thread from last week have been resized to 800 pixels wide.

It's not that hard... trust me... if I can do it... you can do it...
