Does anyone still Zaino?

Zaino tire protectant is the best I've used.. use OPT too but Zaino wins in looks, durability, and NO SLING!

Can we please stop this?

IMHO:
-Enough is enough.
-Its not very good ethics to preach about a competitor's products on a forum that AGO hosts,; and, also gives you discounts on their products.

SORRY BOB!!!! Please don't beat me!!!! As I stated before I am an AGO man/fan!! Here's to AGO!!! Go Blackfire! Go Pinnacle! Go PBL!!! Go Wolfgang!!!! Hoorah!!!!!

Im the MAN But you do make a good point! Again, please go easy on me!!!!!:iagree:

As the OP, I apologize. I was under the impression this was someplace I could visit to get honest opinions and advice about ALL things detailing, not just what's sold on the site.

:iagree: +1 No matter what....what we learn from experience will let us know what is a good product or not. I usually do side by side comparos and get my conclusions from that.

IMO having post like this whether they be competitors products or AGO's products just give us more ammunition for making a better decision in purchasing products.

The one thing I can agree on....My conclusion and favorable opinion could be just the opposite with someone else's opinion.

This is why I like this site so much!! Great information for all car care products!!

It was AGO that showed me that there were other products out there (good or bad) that was not Zaino

The majority of us in this thread are referring to our use of a competitor's product in the past tense. We used to use that product until finding something we like better here. We are here because of the comprehensive product offerings of PBMA coupled with nearly unequalled customer service.

Even the OP is here because that previously mentioned product line does not offer all the other products he needs. He invariably buys from AG...maybe not just his LSP...yet. He mentioned as well, he is a new customer here and would've opted for Wolfgang if he found this site earlier. He didn't and already spent his money on a competitor.

As a testament to the deep level of experience here, it is common for someone to ask for help on something that is not supplied by AG. It is also a testament to the wonderful nature of this forum to get a few people to throw in their experience as a way to help someone else out with a question. I fail to believe PBMA gets their panties in a bunch about an exchange of info...company provided or not.

Quick question, what would you guys like Zaino to come out with, they've already got great sealants, an item to make those sealants even better, an AIO and WOWA product, not to mention other areas covered. So again, what would you guys like to see?

A coating. I think they are probably one of the only product lines that hasn't released one.

a coating that will fill/hide swirls but last 2+ years

Is there a reason why AG does not sell Zaino products?

I'd too would like to see a Zaino coating WOWA like DG's Enviroshield.

Maybe add a more aggressive correcting polish say at 1500 grit level.

More durability on their tire dressing to compete with Tuf Shine.

I have a feeling if Z came out with a coating it would be quite similar to DG Enviroshield.

:iagree:

I used Zaino for a few years, I haven't used it in over 10. Way too many better products available now. Blackfire WDAFPS outlasts Z-2 by many months with just one coat and gives stunning results. I always laughed at the guys that layered 20-30 coats of Z-2. Sal must love that. One of my pics that I sent into them in 2000 is still on their photo home page, the Black Porsche Turbo Carrera.

Zaino had a regional distribution marketing strategy where sellers have assigned territories.

It would be cool if Zaino came out with a coating, more aggressive polish and a tire coating for sure. That said, the "average" customer of theirs, especially the Corvette owner who uses their products doesn't know a swirl from a squirrel, let's be honest here. I only say this because in the hundreds and hundreds of shows I've attended over the years the "average" Corvette is always swirled up and when the hood is up, well, its even easier to see. I'll never understand it either as these guys are retired and the car sits in the garage till the next show where they can meet their friends and talk about which tailight covers they're going to buy next or which chrome bit the engine bay is going receive after that. Guess it comes down to what their customers want and clearly its not paint correction.

So this weekend I did the full Zanio treatment on my black Lexus daily driver. Zanio AIO and Z-PC Fusion, two coats z5, 1 coat Z2 and finally Zanio clear seal. Several comments:

- The AIO and Z-PC Fusion did NOT eliminate swirls and I didn't do a test spot and wound up wasting 15 hrs of polishing work. Lesson learned there - used a rupes Duetto and mini.

- The Z5 and Z2 in certain panels made the Black Paint Jet (the plastic look) which I really like. However, and for reasons unknown, the hood, where i spent huge amounts of time on - streaked like crazy. Was very disappointed. I don't think I used to much product but may have.

- The Clear Seal was also an issue - it streaked and negated the Z5 Z2 shine. The paint still looked good but overall I was disappointed in the full use of the line.

I am now coming to believe that the product line is outdated and hasn't really been updated in years. Maybe the Zanio brothers are happy with what they have and rely on repeat business and don't care about growth. For me, I am now looking at converting over to a new line. Here are some criteria and any recommendations sent to a PM would be appreciated.

a) Looks - has to have that deep wet jetting look as my car is black and I love it when it jets.
b) ease of use - would be great if product is not finicky and goes on easy and quickly
c) Durability - something that lasts one winter - say mid-October through mid-March. I am not going to use a coating as I want the car to look almost show car quality (if that is possible). I think a good sealant would work.
d) Finally, line would be complete - exterior (including an AIO), multiple cut polishes, sealants and interior.
e) Sold and stocked by AGO - don't want to deal with another vendor.

Wolfgangs, Blackfire, Pinnacle all look great but I want the best and just don't know which line to convert to. Black Label appears to just be coatings but that is the type of quality I am looking for - the best of the best - cost is not an issue.

Any comments appreciated.

Mbpress, sorry about your experience there, 15 hrs is a lot of time for sure. I'm not familiar with the first products you used but from my understanding and surely you know this now, they don't correct the paint as there are no "real" abrasives in them.

As far as the streaking goes I don't understand that one at all! I have used both Z-2/5 with great sucess in the past but I wonder if it had something to do with surface prep? Did you clay after the wash? Maybe there were oils in the paint that were coming out, a good paint cleaner and/or alcohol wipe might have helped there, again, I'm no expert just a "backyard" detailer.

if your fed up w/ Z-CS I may buy it off of you for the right price, this way you can put the money towards something else, drop me a PM.

That's not true, Z-PC is a decent but mild polish, it smells good too ;)
