New products, some questions inside (blackfire)

Greetings,

My car is a 2012 mustang (white). I have been using Wolfgangs polish and sealant 3.0 for the past couple years.

my typical game plan has been the following: (2x a year)

Dawn wash and rinse.
Clay bar - clay substitute
polish (WG paintwork enhancer)
WG sealant 3.0 - let cure overnight
wax topper (various) the next morning.

Besides that twice a year ritual, i do weekly washes with a Megs UQW and occasionally a wax topper about 3-4 times a year.


I recently purchased some new products and wanted some feedback on my gameplan with them:

4 oz. BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal Paint Sealant

16 oz. BLACKFIRE Scratch Resistant Clear Finishing Polish

20 oz. BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Polymer Spray

My plan is to wash and clay, then use the finishing polish, followed by the sealant. The polymer spray i planned on using weekly like i do the UQW now.

Are there any issues with this plan?

Is the polsih i bought the one i need?

Is there any other products that are required for what i am tring to do here?

I have read the instructions for the sealant...it says up to 40 cars with 4oz???!! that cannot be right can it?

WHat is the difference in these two products and did i make the right choice: (my car's paint is in very good condition already, there are little to no micro scratches...

BLACKFIRE Gloss Enhancing Polish, prewax polish, car polish

The BF polish is an actual finishing polish. If you want a similar product that doesn't provide any abrading correction, then go with the BF Gloss Enhancing Polish. I have all of those BF products and they are all top quality products. Yes that little bottle can provide LSP for A LOT of cars. It spreads very easily. The key is to use it sparingly. Usually just one spray per body panel, 2-3 for hoods or roofs. It's hard to see it sometimes, but you'll know where it's at by the feel of your applicator.
 
Thank you sir. There are a couple of micro abrasion's here and there on my car. So I think I want the finishing one that I purchased right??
 
Would you be able to get a pic of the abrasions? like on a scale of 1-10 (1 being it looks like crap and 10 being it's in better condition then the factory)

There are no issues with your plan



you say you have very few if any swirls. Finishing polish would do the trick but without a pic it's hard to give you a 100% answer


If it says use sparingly then take there word for it.



Blackfire SRC Compound: That would be your first step with an orange pad. It has agressive cutting which can leave some slight marring/swirls

Blackfire SRC Finishing polish: Covers up the leftovers from the compound

There is a polish chart link that shows most agressive to least agressive.

A compound is for a vehicle with very bad swirls/oxidization etc.

What colour of pad will you be using for the finishing polish?

This is just my opinion, but I would buy them both. I'm a firm believer in having options. The BF compound and the BF polish are great products. Not to overwhelm you, but you might be interested in BF Total Polish Seal, then top it with BF Crystal Seal.

Thanks so much for the chart. Very informative!
My plan is to use the megs. DA system to apply the polish. Will use the polish pad. As far as swirls/micro scratches, i would rate my car about a 9, possibly an 8.

The total polish seal seems to be an AIO product, i have always tended to stay away from them...

Agree with both compound and finishing polish.. anything made by blackfire is a top line product for a low cost. I use the Total polish and seal and it worked amazingly
 
Personally, I would recommend the SRC finishing polish, followed by BF Wet Diamond, cure for 12-24 hours, followed by Crystal Seal - 2 coats 1 hour apart. I do an IPA wipedown after my polishing step before applying the Wet Diamond.

The Polymer Spray is awesome stuff. I use it after a rinseless wash...only need 1-2 sprays per panel. For 2BM washes, I finish with BF Midnight Sun Instant Detailer on wet panels as a drying aide.

Total polish and seal is good too but it can be a little finicky and sticky to remove sometimes. I will use it on good paint that doesn't need much if any correcting then top with 2 coats of Crystal Seal. No cure time needed after TP&S so you can go right to the CS. Great combo for a time crunch or lower end cheaper detail where you want to finish as quickly as possible. Again, only on good paint as TP&S has very little correction capability.
