No Sir, I won't be attending. Though at some stage in my life, it is on my "bucket list." Also, at that time of year I'm liable to be up to my tail feathers in snow (LOL).

Snow! Yikes! I wouldn't cope to well with that at all . . . brrrr. Yeah its on my bucket list too but not for long. :buffing: Since opening our shop i've had two half days off (apart from stat holidays) in the two & a half years we've been open. Not complaining though, business is good & because of that & some "just do it" encouragement from friends - i'm going to Bootcamp!!!:dblthumb2: It's so gonna be worth every drop of blood, sweat & tears it took to get there i know it! :xyxthumbs: You'll get there Mate! :buffing:

Hey guys & gals. :buffing: A big THANKYOU to the team at Autogeek / PBMG for the discount code at the Courtyard Marriott, saved us lots of pennies! :dblthumb2: Looks really close to PBMG, though unsure if we can walk there or is that a motorway i see gonna make that exciting? Another thing to tick off the Bootcamp list & another day closer to getting there! :xyxthumbs: Excitement plus!!! :buffing:

One passport renewed so far . . . impatiently waiting for mine & the young fellas now. Accommodation for our stay is all booked, only the plane rides to finalise & a whole heap more waiting to go! Passed some time over the weekend making my gals VW shine & sparkle with Pinnacle black label diamond paint & glass coatings :buffing: Getting closer to Bootcamp day by day! :dblthumb2:

Update.:xyxthumbs: All passports renewed & received, though i'm thinking theres been some photoshop goings on to make me look like a criminal!? Yay! Airfares/flights all booked today by my lovely lady. Wow! its starting to sink in now that we are actually doing this. Bootcamp here we come! :buffing: From our little town of Blenheim to our biggest city of Auckland we fly around an hour and a half - 326 miles. Then board the Big bird for our trip across the pacific to Los Angeles for just over twelve hours - 6522 miles (must remember to go to the bathroom before that one huh?) Then we go from LA to Fort Lauderdale, another four & a decent chunk of hours & 2343 miles. A transfer by road from Fort Lauderdale to . . . Stuart for BOOTCAMP!!!! :buffing: Exciting!!! About 18500 miles of air travel by the time we get home. 128 sleeps to go until we leave. Roll on . . . :dblthumb2:

Thanks for the update. Your story about doing all the work it takes to get here is inspiring.

At this time I don't have any cars lined up for the class by as history documents I always have a great collection of cars by the time class gets here. I'll do my best to make this class the best class ever!

:dunno:

18+K miles!

That should get you sort of perks on you 'frequent flyer' plan.

Yea, what's the deal with 'official pictures'? Do I really look that old and grumpy?

Hang in there, all of sudden you WILL be on the big silver bird...

Bill

Hey Mike. Thanks for the interest you have shown in our story about getting me to Bootcamp. I already know this will be the best class ever & its still 127 sleeps away! :xyxthumbs:
There is a fair amount of organising involved for sure, the time zone thing just makes my head spin but everyone assures me we will arrive in Stuart on the thursday night.
I haven't really mentioned the work we have done to actually be able to do this - purely because i don't want it to sound like a sob story because it isn't. This is my passion & also my job. Like you Mike - i love my job! :buffing:
I have been detailing for a living for 20 years now. Just over 2 & a half years ago we opened our own shop. :xyxthumbs:
The hard work we have put in has made it possible to come to Bootcamp! A true bucket list item.
So - the shop will be closed for 10 days while we are away = no income for that time. Our dogs (so gonna miss them) will be at the boarding kennels.
But all the sacrifices, blood, sweat & tears are going to be worth every bit when i walk up to that door for Bootcamp, no doubt.
Aaryn. :buffing:

Hello Aaryn,

I take it you're a bit excited about attending Mike's Bootcamp?

I'm sure it will be one of life's most memorable experiences so take lots of photos when you arrive, we'll look forward to them here! :props:

Good luck!

Hahaha . . . yeah you would think so huh. Though not really a frequent flyer by any means but maybe they could do me a great deal for Detail fest or something? :buffing:
Yep - old, grumpy & dodgy looking in my passport photo?
Even worse when the photographer says you're not allowed to smile . . . automatic smirking grin coming up! Haha.
Cheers for the support Bill. :dblthumb2:

That's what is making this thread so enjoyable. His excitement, enthusiasm along with traveling half way around the world to attend "Boot Camp," gives us all a good feeling.

Hello all. :buffing:
Sorry - i haven't got much of an update for our Bootcamp story as mostly everything is sorted. Still so super excited & very impatiently counting the days down.
Work has been really busy - lots of hours & days passing by. :dblthumb2: Starting to warm up here in NZ too, 21 deg c today & that evil pollen seems to have finally disappeared at last.
Anyone able to enlighten me as to what we should expect weather wise in Florida? :xyxthumbs:

Can't help you out with Florida's weather...but will say, Happy 'First of Spring' to ya!

Must mean its Autumn for you huh? Florida's weather isn't really an issue & isn't gonna change how Awesome Bootcamp will be!!! Didn't want to fill the suitcase up with warm clothes & take up space for all the goodies i NEED from Autogeek if i don't need to aye. :props: Hoping the new Flex tool is going to be available in 230v . . . LC HD pads . . best i see if the piggy bank rattles. hahaha! :buffing:

Yup...Autumn had arrived, but very gently (so far). Still in the upper 70's (mid 20'sC). Fall is nice, warm days and cool nights (great for sleeping), but winters in Minnesota are a monster!

I just looked real quickly on " weather.com ", looks like January temps are 23°C>13°C with a monthly average of about 2½" of rain. Not to bad if ya ask me.

Have a good weekend...

Good finding out Bill - yeah i'd be happy with that. By then we will be sweating it out in the mid to high thirties down here.
Just been checking out the cars Mike has for this weekends Bootcamp. Wow! Gives me butterflies thinking that in 117 sleeps i will be there too! :dblthumb2:
Cheers Bill - Aaryn.

Bootcamp update! :buffing:
112 days until we start our journey fro New Zealand to Stuart Florida for Bootcamp! Have been keeping an eye on Septembers Bootcamp tread - Wow! Some interesting machinery there! Doesn't help my impatience seeing that though! :nomore:
Whats the chances Mike would notice the flooring in the show car garage went missing? Hahaha, i'm not sure we have a suitcase big enough, Doh!
Looking forward to seeing what Mike has for us to work on in January . . . :dblthumb2:
Aaryn NZ.
