Unless they are similarly formulated, to the degree that Optimum Polymer Technogy, Inc. has done with its Optimum Car Wax:
Then...Probably not a whole lot!!

Then:
-It should stand to reason that the more "mirror-like" an LSP can be: The more UV-rays it would be able to reflect...(deflect?)...away from the vehicle proper.

saw a test done using a uv meter. they put 4 different sealants/waxes on, two of which claimed to reduce uv exposure, one was nxt 2.0, another meguiars gold class, zaino z5, and 3m perfect it wax

all 4 did nothing to prevent uv exposure, there was no change from the baseline.

Uv rays would fade stuff correct? Wouldn't a barrier of wax or sealant prevent that. . I'm learning alot on this forum. I've learned that honda paint is soft so im assuming that's why you see alot of older models faded and clear coat missing. So even if wax wasn't made for uv rays wouldn't it still protect from getting through that layer of protection. I'm not a scientist so I don't know

Sorry Junkman, I guess I was in a cranky mood on Saturday morning. That was uncalled for. I hadn't been reading this thread since the first 2 days until that morning. I guess something set me off. Your Corvette looks amazing so you definitely have a keen eye exhibited by the high level of polishing. I would venture to guess that there is no LSP on the car in that photo. Just post polishing with maybe a wash afterwards.
 
No problem. No, there is no LSP on that car. I used a light polish (Optimum Polish II) on it that morning before going to a car's and coffee. Didn't have to wash it afterward because I washed it first. After I got home that day, I washed it again and then added my sealant. Topped it off 36 hours later with my carnuba paste wax.

I have come to the conclusion that there is a point of diminishing returns regarding waxes and sealants. Longevity seems to be the biggest difference among them and not necessarily appearance. The most expensive wax I've ever bought is Pinnacle Souveran. I bought it chasing every bit of shine and luster I could impart, but to be honest, I cannot really tell the difference between it and NXT 2.0. I actually prefer NXT because it's slightly easier to buff out AND it lasts a LONG time. Looking back, I think it was absurd for me to pay that kind of money for a small container of wax. I suppose if you own a $500k Ferrari, only the best will do, but it's psychological more than anything else. That's my humble opinion, anyhow. I'm very pleased with NXT, #26, and Optimum spray wax. :dblthumb2:

I've been using #21 sealant and colinite 845. I like the consistency of#21 the best so far. It's thick and easy on and off.

What is liquid#26 like. Is it thick or or runny like 845

Never used or seen 845 so not sure how it compares, but I would say #26 is slightly thicker than NXT - not runny at all, just creamy. I believe NXT 2.0 and #21 sealant are the same product other than #21 is formulated as body shop safe.

Mirror Glaze line for the most part is "body shop safe".

However, anything labeled wax or sealant (ie. M6, M26, M20, M21) are not body shop safe.

The Final Inspection (M34) is body shop safe.

By the way M26 is a great topper to M21.

Not for the most part, it is. That's why that line exist. However, you are correct in that you don't wax or seal paint until it cures. That amount of time depends on what the painter used to paint your car with. My paint was cured within a week because of what I used.

Other than the sealants, what isn't? And it's not that they are not body shop safe, it's that you don't seal paint that hasn't cured. Other than that, they can be used in a body shop environment.
 
I would like to see an example of what happens to paint that is waxed or sealed that is not "cured".

Please someone post a picture of the dreadful effects of not waiting to wax your paint. Just one example. Please.
