What can be done about a fake yelp review?

So as of early this month business has literally died... It didn't make sense because it was so consistent. Well i decided to make some changes to my stuff in hopes to gain some business when i found a fake yelp review that was posted around the same time business stopped... Its clearly a fake review. I keep and issue receipts to each customer i serve and I don't have any records of a guy by that name. On top of that i'm his only review and the review was written the same date he became a Yelp user... What can be done about this? Like i said i haven't got one customer all month and this leads me to believe is the reason. What pisses me off is this review stayed but my only honest review was hidden... Yelp just emailed me saying that basically they arent taking it down!

I suggest you do as they advise and contact the reviewer directly and by posting on your Yelp site

In a conciliatory tone offer to re-detail his vehicle and if he is not fully satisfied, you will refund 2x what he paid

This way you will look like a business owner who is willing to make it right no matter what
 
By doing that i feel as though id be admitting to doing what he claims. Its clearly a fake review. This is total BS!
 
Can you write a bad yelp review about yelp?

I would post a public comment being clear that you document all your work and did no work for this guy. It's unfortunate, I used to think yelp was great, lately I've been finding more BS than worthwhile info

I think you are much better off taking a non-confrontational tact
 
Im going to call yelp tomorrow and see what can be done. Ill report back with what they say.

Do you have any regular customers? Maybe ask them to post reviews for you to the contrary? Fight lies with the truth.

Exactly what I was going to say...If you have 20 good reviews no one will take stock in the 1 bad one :)
 
So your in NV and you drove all the way to CA to detail his car? (obviously I'm exaggerating, this fake bad review is looking faker and faker) so if Yelp doesn't even acknowledge this, even if you bring it up to them tomorrow, then that is a huge bad customer service of Yelp.

You being the customer of Yelp.

I would also like to add, that IMO, this is just wrong..., Sorry to hear all the trouble Brondondolon.

You are politely calling his bluff, while appearing to be willing to go far beyond to make sure the customer is happy

Interesting that Aaron M who just posted the 5 Star review has three other reviews which he blasts the automotive related businesses with One Star!
