buffing my 04 mustang gt black

Just have to put on the coat of wax.
But here it is after buffing and a coat of meg. #21 sealant.

Thanks, I tried to take more before pics, but they didn't show much. Too many cloudy and rainy days here for good pics.
I couldn't have done this without all the help from this site.

My e550 is the same way. I was just using a standard LED shop light to do the paint correction with, and according to it I had probably a solid 90% correction. Then, I made the mistake of going out and buying a 192LED super bright light and shining it at the side of the car. HOLY HELL I ABOUT HAD A HEART ATTACK!!

There is SO many scratches left in the paint, that you CAN NOT see with the naked eye out in the bright sun light. But you get it under that friggin thing and there are TONS of them.

I decided to leave it be, because it looks awesome. Ill go out and take a couple pictures quick to show.
 
Here are a couple pictures. The deck lid looks very clear under the LED light as can be seen, but the door looks horrible.

Oh ya I know the feeling. Funny how black looks so grey under those lights.
I have some plastic pieces that are painted black, and they look absolutely dull grey under intense light. I am in the same boat. It looks great under direct sunlight now, looks like glass. Before I could see all kinds of swirl marks. They are gone, so i'm happy.
 
Same here, I just plan to leave it be for now since it looks great outside. Just the perfectionist in each of us comes out. Just depends on how much we can push it aside and live with it :)
 
That came out real nice . I have an Black 03 Cobra , same basic body lines as your GT w/hood and deck lid spoiler being different . I don't think it is an easy car to do as a first , the same "new edge" body lines that make it one of the most popular Mustangs ,also make it hard to learn to machine polish IMO. With only a few sections being flat .

I also had same experience w/ halo's , wow , they can really deflate you . I didn't have a good experience w/ Meg's ,one of the best advice I was given was to have several different polish's on hand and was/am so grateful for this forum because it .

I found Optimum Hyper to work for very well for me . Way to stick it out bro and overcome , it was well worth it by the results you got . I do think you saying our " autogeek obsession
and quest for perfection " is spot on . Many never see what we see with our "OK" being most others perfect . But for me as I imagine for you all to , it's all about pleasing me , compliments are great but if you are happy that is all that really matters . Now all yah have to do is refine your wash technique to keep her looking as awesome as she does now :) ..

Thanks, and great car you have. I love the cobra. Would be my first choice, but funds were limited.
I already have a very meticulous wash routine. Most of those scratches came from the previous owner. I also have a 14 ram black express. This truck is all black everywhere. I use the two bucket wash system, and dry with a leaf blower. I also use rodi water for my final rinse. I am very particular about the care of my toys. LOL. My neighbours make fun of me, and my family. But its all good. I enjoy it. Thanks for the compliments, and enjoy that cobra.
OH, and yes. A lot of uneven spots and body lines on the car. I am glad i also ordered a set of 4" pads with my 5.5" pads that came with the polisher. I used the 4" more than the 5.5" ones.

Wow! That looks stunning, Mike. Great work my friend. And don't forget, no one's gonna take a halogen to it but you. Everyone else is saying "wow" too!
 
That was smart getting the 4" pads , they help allot . Thanks man , I think I'm keeping this car :) .. You own 2 Black cars like myself lol .. Glutton for punishment we are I suppose , actually as you just wrote out ,good wash method along with the array of phenomenal products offered by AG it isn't to bad taking care of 2 black vehicles .

Only driving the toy once a week makes life easy as well , kind of cheating ...lol

Punkman , that's too funny , we are our toughest critics more often then not ...
