When to clean door jambs? Interior APC or Exterior ONR?

This may sound weird, but when to tackle these parts which are painted?

Should I clean it with an APC and a microfiber towel OR leave it for when I start ONR the exterior and make a pass with the grout sponge?

I got a picture from the internet to illustrate which parts I'm refering to:

I clean them with a APC then seal them with Blackfire crystal seal. Or any good sealant.
 
Clean them with apc then seal them with a good sealant on hand like stated though once clean you could maintenance them with a waterless, rinsless wash every other/couple of weeks
 
Do you clean with an APC even if they're very dirty/soiled?
 
IMO it'll depend if your going to to the APC route or ONR route.

If your out there detailing for a job. If the job calls for a quick wipe down then I would go the ONR route.

However, if the customer wants it completely cleaned. Then APC and then seal it would be a good choice.

I have done work where they wanted actual paint correction on the door jambs. So I went with a waterless wash, clay, paint correction and then sealed the work.

All the above will work and it'll just depend on what your trying to accomplish. IMO
 
Plus one on Art's post if those door jams are really soild yes apc, and brushes are the way to go unless you have a steamer which could help out too
 
APC if it's real dirty.

ONR or waterless wash for maintenance.
 
Even if it's heavily soiled you can use ONR

ONR, several towels, and a brush for the detail areas

I clean em every detail.. it only takes me about 2 minutes

I don't get em perfect unless the customer specifically asked for that
 
Maybe I'm missing something (won't be the first time), but each and every time I "wash the car," I also do all the those edges.

Once you have them cleaned, easy to keep that way.

Thats the thing. I'll agree they can be overlooked. But once sealed, they are a breeze to maintain. After every wash i do open the doors and give the jambs a good wipe. Since i did a full detail early this week, i even cleaned and sealed the inside of the gas door! How's that for OCD! LOL

It's not OCD. It's exactly what I do :dblthumb2:

Of course it is not OCD: it's the proper way to do things! :props:

Err...OCD: shouldn't it be CDO - those psychiatrists don't know how to properly sort three letters...
 
Just to add: a good AIO for door jambs is Sonax Nano Tech Paint Cleaner.
