FLEX Announcement for SEMA - Can You Guess What it is?

How about Flex 25 because of its 25mm throw, depending or what throw it has or if it ever has one, we still dont know what it is.

:dblthumb2:

If my guess is true that will be game changer to the body shop / detailing world as well. I can see it will compute against rotary applications. Again that is my perspective.

Whatever it is, I'm holding off buying a new buffer until I see what this is!

The PE14 is a super, state of the art rotary machine already, and you can use a 3 inch backing plate on it. Designing a dedicated 3 inch rotary is a bad decision and waste of R&D resources, IMHO.

A small, 3 inch, forced rotation DA makes more sense to me. And i would call it FLEX KTB-03 (Kill the Bigfoot 3-inch) or FLEX KTS-12 (Kill the Sasquatch 12 mm throw).

Just kidding :dblthumb2:

Now, serious. I tried to recognize any pattern or meaning on the FLEX numbering, but found none, or few. They PE 14-1-180, PE 14-2-150 and PE 14-3-125 on their line already. All of them are rotary polishers. 180, 150 and 125 seems to be the backing plate size diameter in millimeters.

So, a 3 inch tool will be 76 mm.

Maybe PE means:

polisher -> Poliermaschine
electric -> elektrisch

hahahahhaha :laughing: :laughing:

So, my entries are:

FLEX PE 14-4-76 (76mm backing plate and 4th in line)

or, following the 3401 naming:

FLEX XC 3076 VRG

or

FLEX XC 76 Predator VRG

or

FLEX klasse 76

or

FLEX Fantastisch 76

or

FLEX PE 14-4-76 Wunder

Man, i'm inspired today. :laughing::laughing::laughing::buffing:

Probably a 3" DA with a lighter weight body to compete with Rupes. They have everything else covered.
I say they will call it the "Flexlight"XXX####

I am guessing it will be a dual polisher like the cyclo but can be used with 5-6" pads, large throw (more then Big foot 15) and a powerful engine.

:drool:

Its going to be a very long winter resisting the urge to buy the new tool from flex.

I agree it looks like a mini-flex. Which is what i'm really hoping for. Cmon 3inch mini

Eric,

This is taken from the thread on set with Dennis Gage. Below is a response from Mike on when it will be made public.

Surprises on Thursday and my article showcasing the new Flex tool as early as next Monday.... teaser pics posted in this thread....

Here's an update...

I started processing the pictures showing this tool in action when I buffed out the 1932 Deuce Coupe.

As I was processing the pictures to create the thread I called Bob Eichelberg to discuss another related topic. While I had him on the phone I double checked with him and asked if he still wanted to stick to the plan of posting my article next Monday.

After some discussion he asked that I wait till the Monday before SEMA. For those that have never been to SEMA it's a show that starts on Tuesday at 9:00am in the morning.

So the schedule has changed and I now have permission to share the thread with the tool in action on Monday, November 1st.

I respect Bob's decision as he's been in the tool business all his life and he knows his business and I politiely ask everyone in the forum world to respect his decision.

Here's a teaser shot till November 1st...

Thanks for the update, Mike. Do you know if Bob likes any of the name suggestions offered in this thread so far?

Only a matter of time before the Flexzilla is unleashed!

Mike I think you may have the wrong date. November 1st is a Saturday unless my calendar is incorrect.

Man..... I just can't wait! Can someone show me that new tool, please!
