Best glass coating

What does the glass look like in the area you applied Megs WB?

Was there an aftermarket coating on the affected area?

What have you tried so far to remedy the situation?

I would be surprised if you did any permanent damage to the glass itself

HF acid can easily etch glass so I'm sure it's not pretty.

I applied Gtechniq G1 topped with G5 just a few weeks ago, so I haven't had it on long enough to say if it's best, never mind that I have not used any other coating save for Rain-X and Aquapel (both of which I haven't used in probably a decade!) It hasn't rained enough for me to comment on how much I like the G1/G5 either. What I have noticed is that in a drizzly rain, the coating doesn't do anything; I still need to use the wipers. Also, for the rain that has occurred, the 35 mph claim seems optimistic. I need to get up to 50 mph for the water to roll off without need of wipers.

Stupid question: do you have to worry about a coating coming off when scraping ice? Probably not, but just making sure

.....I still think it performs well, and I top it with DG Rain Repel now, which IMHO has to be the best glass cleaner I've used in a long time.

....I've also used PBL glass coating on my wife's windshield and it has worked out pretty well also. I think she got about 8 months out of it before I had to reapply it.

I totally agree with that DG Rain Repel statement. :dblthumb2: Really love that stuff!

I've got PBL Glass Coating on several vehicles, mine and customers and it's held up well. One on a Mazdaspeed since last November (that isn't garaged) and he says it still throws water straight off.

It's possible it gets damaged.

I scraped off ice all winter long last year and my G1 held up very nicely until I polished just recently. I think you'll be fine.

Sorry about the late reply. Just getting logged back in. It looks hazy like a chemical has ran dwn the entire winshield i will take pics and repost.thanks

Until I try out Flyby Forte, I'll say GTechniq G1 is the best I've tried. I've figured out an easy way to apply it, I'll post a video of it when I do the next car.

What have you tried so far to correct the damage?

Looking forward to seeing a picture?

You might be better off starting a NEW thread, specific to your issue

Ive tried alot of different product. Ive given up. There is a sensor type tint inside glass. But i dont see how it went into the glass that far.
