I got my nice little shipment from PBMG and here lies one of the items in my box..... Anyone interested in seeing a little Product Review/Show & Shine on the product??



I will attempt to line up a car for it in the next few weeks. Be on the lookout!

Nice, Claude... I've got 2 tubes sitting on my doorstep from DI for an upcoming product review article :) I wasn't originally planning on using Gloss Coat, but I wasn't going to turn down the chance to try it out... I am interested to see how application has changed from OC2.0 and also how much slickness has improved.
 
I've done PBL, UK, Finest, and OC2.0 coatings, and have to say that I am intrigued and excited. I've made a couple of phone calls this morning and I think I secured one of my best friend's daily driver which is a 24/7 "exposed" car..... in the heat and humidity of South Louisiana. We shall see what the durability truly is (in this harsh environment)

Hey Zach, are you doing a simple product review or are you doing a comparative review? Will you include some torture test (such as diluted APC or acidic wheel cleaner). Do you have any info if this resin based coating hardens harder with UV curing? I've been meaning to call them but haven't got around to it yet.

Just a simple "first impressions" type of review focusing mostly on application and overall look and feel... this will be going on a customer vehicle ('11 M3 in Jerez Black) that I will not be able to monitor over time. No durability testing is planned given the time restrictions of the correction & coating process... and the fact that it is not be my vehicle or a vehicle of someone I know, therefore I would not want to 'experiment' with it.

I actually just chatted with Chris Thomas about IR curing and he simply stated that it would "cure faster" with IR lights, but he does not know what optimal temperatures or duration is for such a scenario. He also mentioned that since most people do not have IR lights at their disposal, the coating will be cured enough in just 1 hour under normal conditions and can get wet at that time, however it should not be washed for a min. of 3-4 days after application.

Claude, I'll race you....I have my car prepped, just waiting for temps to lower to apply and write up!

HAHAHA Chris! You got me beat by a couple of weeks. I will have to make up for my tardiness to the party with a write up to rival Mike P's expertise and knowledge base (like that is going to happen). Looking forward to your comments and impressions. :buffing:

It's just a white bookshelf that I have in my office... I take all of my product shots on it... makes it look fancy :dblthumb2:
 
I can't wait to read all of the reviews from you guys. It will likely decide which coating I try for the first time.
