Review: Optimum Gloss Coat

Do you mean transferring it from the syringe to a finger pump sprayer?

Would that work?

Exactly, the OP used this method, how many sprays per panel would you estimate?

I transfered to a little 2oz sprayer I had that was unused. I applied it like Crystal Seal or UPGP, i didn't have any issues and I just feel a spray covers better. I did it with the original OptiCoat as well, just like using this method better, to each their own :)

Mr cleanmycorolla,

Thank you sir for the update, greatly appreciated as I am currently planning out a strategy for possibly employing Gloss-Coat in the future and information regarding its longevity are a significant factor.

Welcome back. Do you spray the applicator or the paint? What type of applicator are you using?

Good to hear the update. Im also interested in putting gloss coat in a little spray bottle

Both, well, i spray pad/applicator once to prime, then the paint is sprayed, I don't know if theres a right or wrong way, i just did what my gut thought was easiest for me!

Just passed 2 years with DG enviro shield coating
Nice, DG makes great stuff, I remember people were stoked when it came out! 2 years is awesome life!

Try it, even if just a couple cc's may work better for you.

Thanks for the update.

No problem Guz!:xyxthumbs:

Hey Chris, I know it's been awhile since your last update on the gloss coat, but I'm wondering how it's currently holding up now that we're about a month away from it being a full 2 years since you applied it?

Is it still on the car? If you've only been doing rinseless/waterless washes on it and it hasn't been topped with anything, how would you rate the durability, dirt release, and looks currently?

Thanks!

FYI, its been almost 3 years and I just HAD to strip the remaining off yesterday. It was barely holding on, but the coatings characteristics still maintained.

Characteristics as in? That's good , 3 years and still working as it should?

3 years is good considering you had used the 2 year formula. Thanks for the update.

well, its not like it was 100% great, most panels still showed beading characteristics and some gloss. some panels were further gone though.

yeah, i'd say 2.5 years. And probably the last 2-3 months it really started to show its death. now remember, i garage the car at night and most days at the office so its mostly covered and i wash it all the time.
