CarPro FlyBy Forte anyone?

That is some great news. Is it going to be a little more expensive than flyby30? Or very expensive like opti glass?

This little Vid was posted by a member on Carpro's forum. Now if Forte is this impressive, and also lasts, then I'm sold!

What in the world. That is very impressive.

You know, I never asked about price point. That is a great question I will have to inquire on. The only thing I do know for sure is that it should be available Monday

LOL Mark! That video is of a true product but not FlyBy Forte. This Asian product does not last and will get removed by windshield wiper. I'll have to look at the thread again to see the exact product and longevity it claimed.

Price on CarPro is $36.99 for the 10ml kit and $29.99 for 10ml bottle only.

FlyBy30 is $19.99 for a 50ml bottle and $12.99 for 20ml bottle. So the price is significantly more.

dsg03gt seems to be on the money as far as price point is concerned. I visited the Carpro website this morning and saw this (which did not seem to show the 50ml, yet). They look like they will have it on hand shortly :xyxthumbs:. Maybe the 50ml is delayed??

As for the statement of significantly more expensive, I think that gave me a "sweet idea" for cost comparison, which I will include in my "BETA tested review" of the product. Thanks for the idea!!! According to preliminary tests, a 10ml bottle should do 2-3 vehicles and the 50ml bottle should do around 15 vehicles. I've only done 1 test so far and will elaborate on how much product I used etc... I will have a review on the application and impression today or tomorrow, and I will try and get some water beading/sheeting video this weekend. Stay tuned!!

I reckon cost, value are in the eye of the beholder.

From what little I could find about this Japan Coating I linked a vid to, I found the price for the Kit is about $100. Not cheap. Other sparse comments I stumbled upon said this Coating had an opague look to it, and one user said they noticed a loss of clarity-transparency on the windshield, that there was better use of it on the side-rear glass.

Thing is, the windshield is highly important IMO, one doesn't drive down the road looking through side-rear glass the majority of the time.

The other is the question of longevity, and another that I see as an important quality is lack of wiper chatter.

Rain-X works fairly decent, is cheap per application, easily gotten, maybe doesn't last that long, but my biggest dislike of Rain-X is the wiper chatter.

I've tried many times to try coating wiper blades with various products on a number of personal vehicles to no avail, appears an inherit trait of Rain-X, that in many instances, chatter is something one either lives with, or switches to another product.

Carpro makes so many great products, it will be interesting to read further comments of Forte as time passes.

I have a question regarding modern glass coatings: Do they in any way help with morning dew build-up? I'm assuming not, just want to know from someone with using coatings on a vehicle that sits outside overnight. Thanks in adavance

*edit: To be clear, I'm asking do they help PREVENT morning dew build-up?

Prevent? No. Whatever moisture on there, if it's heavy enough, will blow off when you're up to speed.

This is from the manufacturer of the glass coating in the video above. Straight from their FB Page.

"
KAMIKAZE WATER ATTACK!
The Dream Window Coating arrived today.
This is a prototype.
There is no scheduled release.
It is close to the principles of the coating of the fabric.
There are several additives to nanotechnology. The additive is probably only in Japan.
However, the application of window glass is difficult before technology.
We tried in several ways.
But,There is a hologram of some from application.
However, it is not required wiper when the heavy rain weather.
Because for the design reluctant to complete the water theoretically.
We are expected to about three months durability.
It is the same as the span of anti-aging of the KAMIKAZE Theory.
Therefore, We will applications at the sametime as the OVERCOAT in the future.
Customers would feel the "value" reliably.
For example,Many rainy countries and often have a lot of rain. When you need a high-speed driving.
We believe that there is the demand.
However, there are many disadvantages of this coating.
Kamikaze will start a joint development with the Institute of this technology. It in prospect next year.
There is a need to more effort.
Of course, This is made in Japan technology.
Stay tune KAMIKAZE"

What makes you think that? Autogeek is going to carry it so I believe you're wrong.

That was straight from the carpro forum. Corey said there was a mistake in advertising and its a pro only item for now.

There was a last minute change of plan. The reason for it is above my pay grade :(

Here is an excerpt directly off of a FB post from CarPro-US.

"Introducing CarPro FORTE: Extreme Windshield Coating! Now available to all CarPro Professional detailers in the USA this product is not limited to our Finest installers but to all of the Pros who enjoy our products."

I did post a review on the CarPro forum (my Beta testing experience and video) but unsure if I should post here as well (with all the recent confusion). I'll ask the upper brass on Monday and hope to be able to share with my AG family.

Good news is that it is available to ALL PROS (not just Finest). Not 100% sure how that works, but anticipate that this is the first step in a broader distribution (future public release I hope!). The pitfalls of launching a new technology I guess?!?
