No, I am not expecting some fashion show here, but while I was washing the car this evening, I started contemplating this...

I, as a woman, wear tights and a soft shirt..... I do this so I can lean against the car and not worry about zippers, buttons, etc. I am short, so to reach the roof, the center of the windshield, etc I need to get close and personal.

But as a guy... I don't see you wearing tights
So what do you wear? Or do you stay away front the car and it doesn't matter?

What? Just cause a guy wears tights that's supposed to mean something?? I mean ... I wear sweat pants or sweat shorts. Pleated kaki shorts don't usually have any buttons in the front.

Sent from my XT1030 using AG Online

I wear either sweat pants or gym shorts with a golf shirt. Nothing with any buttons or zippers that could mar the finish when I lean on the vehicle. I also take off my wedding ring and watch for the same reason.

Sweat pants or shorts, cotton t-shirt. No rings, watches or any jewelry. I make sure the clothes I wear will not scratch the car when I am reaching for the roof.

Detailkitty has the right idea!

UA heat gear t-shirt, and UA shorts with pockets. Nothing in pockets. No watches, rings etc.

Yup, workout tights, a t-shirt or something soft, and rings come off. Sneakers and a ponytail :dblthumb2:

Going "ring free" is pretty easy now since we got matching wedding bands tattooed on for our anniversary :dblthumb2:

Summer it's white t shirt and shorts, pockets empty. Cooler seasons it's sweats, top and bottom. No jewelry.

Athletic shorts

Cut off t shirts

Or a cotton hoody

AND CROCS....love wearing them! (Fake ones can be had at 5 below for yes, you guessed it, $5!)

Nike dri-fit sweatpants or shorts, usually with a dri-fit Detroit Tigers/Lions or Spartans shirt. Breaths well enough, don't care if they get full of soap/chemicals.

Usually have to remember to take my watch off, I sleep with it on, lol.

in the summer its active were .. if the temps are around 40 degrees I wear Jeans, and a turtleneck.

Tights?! Well I've been known to wash my van in my cycling kit (it's usually after a bike ride)...

The only thing I try to avoid wearing when washing my cars are long sleeves. I hate getting them wet and having that clinging feeling on my arms. On detailing, whatever is comfortable.

Dickies or dickies-style here, too. Basically I wear older cotton uniform pants (Cintas and Big Bill, mostly) that are well-broken-in and very soft. Usually a tee shirt on top. I also like the Meg's cotton apron for certain steps, and recently got the MF apron (CG, but no logos anywhere) that will be fine here for the colder months.

I'm going to go with whatever I am wearing. And like Bob stated a smile!

So here it goes, I didn't really no what to do when I got to my clients house. So what I did was go dressed all nice and spiffy. Hair combed all waxed, shaved, deodorant, cologne. A nice pair of dickies, creased and ironed, shirt tucked in with my new nice belt. I felt like I was dressing when i was interning as an adjuster. :)

We agreed I'd be there at 11am and at 11am I got there. Went and knocked on the door and went to go evaluate the damage. Had my leather notebook, with my VIF that I had her sign and handed her my business card.

So we agreed on what we talked on the phone, but she brought up a bit more. I told her not to worry about it. I'll include it with the original estimate. If anything else changed, I would contact her prior to proceeding.

So after I had her sign my form. I went back to the car and took off my polo and put on my apron. (which still looked professional IMO)

So I then unloaded my car and got to work. After I finished, I went back to my car, took off my apron and put my polo back on. She complimented my polo btw. she gave me a $25 tip on top of the original price, guess always conducting myself in a professional manner and being myself paid off.

I still have to upload the other photos of this job. It was a touch up paint job, so no sanding was done. If anyone is wondering. Takes a long time on here. Wish you could just drag and drop it. Like on FB, but more on that later.
