New Meguiar's D.A Polisher being announced on Sema?

3000-7500 OPM's for it, Griot's is 2500-6800. We'll see, it looks like it operates super smooth. But I'm kind of surprised more aren't switching to a longer throw.

Mike Stoops just posted a long explanation of why the tool is the way it is.

Interesting read. Sounds like it's quite a strong machine if they were maxing out at 5800OPM's in regular usage and how well it automatically increases power to maintain OPM's as more pressure is applied.

I like seeing new tools.
So far, though:

If anybody didn't see Setec's post on page 2, here it is again. Straight from the Meguiar's forum.

I am excited to see what this beast is capable of delivering. I will be waiting for Mike to get his hands on.

I am pretty sure people will start the mods to get the most out of this machine. rupes needed, will this one?

MT300 Dual Action Polisher

I'm with your enthusiasm Francisco, I also read the thread recommended.

Seems awesome, and definitively better than knock-off tools we were discussing earlier... Congratulations, Meguiar's!

This got me thinking Tato, I wonder if this tool is going to put all the knockoff's to the side.

When people ask which tool should I get. I am interested to see if this one will start getting mentioned as well.

Sounds very interesting, that was a great read from Mike Stoops. I was almost set on getting a Flex to go with my Rupes, but now this..... The added torque is an interesting concept, almost sounds like it has some forced rotation??? Like how torque increase when you push on it to keep it spinning??? Or am I reading that wrong. Price point is awesome if it delivers as they say it does.

Still too early for hyping, but it looks so.

It's not novelty we are seeing Meguiar's joining efforts with detailing leaders (will not cite names to not be unfair with anyone) in order to develop their innovation plan. The results couldn't be different.

Look at those new pads as well new products like Paint Protection and 305 polish...

For the right price, MT300 may give little to no chance for a doubtful Knock-off. Seems pretty solid, match the backing plates, the pads...

Kind Regards.

So the MT300 comes with no backing plate, but they introduced 3 new backing plates!

With their complete makeover to their new thin foam pads as well, they seem to have really overhauled a lot this year. Looks like a pretty legit system from top to bottom.

Rotation indicator is 'pretty ingenious', so simple to do, why it took so long for someone to think about adding this detail. Hats-off!

How it'll be with 3" plate? Being able to run the Meguiar's 3" Microfiber Discs put this into a whole solution instead of a single polisher.

Hope the casing isn't too big for the purpose,

And the top to be safe and comfortable to hold to without the bail.

Kind Regards.

I am pretty sure Kevin Brown is behind this new machine, he is the one with the mod for the rupes, pretty much a simple mod was able to make the rupes what it is. If he is indeed, behind the new tool, get ready for the new machine to challenge the Rupes. A perfect balance is what it needs and this innovative torque is something very interesting.

Here is the new machine up close and personal with their new thin cutting discs.

Don't mind the battery on my phone. Lol. That's what happens when you have push on notifications from Instagram.

Quite a few new machines out at Sema...I'm in the market for a new polisher but this is looking like it's going to be a difficult decision...

besides the different body style and ergonomics, i wonder how much difference this is going to be compared to the G110v2 and other traditional DA's (in particular the GG6) with the same size throw. if the torque is similiar to the GG6 then it would be an improvement in power, but if it's just an updated version of the G110v2 then... i'm considering purchasing one, but will wait a little while to see if there are any bugs in them that need to be worked out if there are any....

hey visitor, do you have the GG6?

The whole Digital Torque Management thing sounds good, but on another site they list this in their description of the unit...

The MT300 has a wide 3000 - 7500 OPM variable speed control and will sense pressure and reduce power when too much pressure is applied.

That sounds like the opposite of what Megs explains as the DTM, right?
