Best way to clean water spots on glass?

0000 steel wool and a cleaning polish/wax to lubricate the surface

Some don't like it, but I've been doing this to hundreds of cars with no issues

Microfiber cutting pad , a DA , and correction compound or car pro glass cleaner polish

Very bad no no. If you look at the glass in the light the steel wool will make swirls in the glass

I used to do this

Sorry I can't help, but I can tell you chemical guys water spot remover did not work for me.

Hey guys. I've done everything to try and get the water spots off of my Jeep's windshield and tinted glass on the hardtop. I've used glass cleaners, elbow grease, even clay bar and it still looks like this (see pics).

Any tips?

I've used it countless times as well. I buy it by the gallon. Spotless is an awesome product. With that being said my warning about being careful when using it on the windshield is still true. It will not etch if the glass is smooth; however, if there is severe wiper haze it will etch the scratches to the point that visibility through the glass will be a problem.

My intention isnt to offend you but how long are you leaving it on?

No offense taken. I use as directed. Probably stays on the surface for 20-30 seconds while applying, then rinse, and wash to neutralize.

The only time I've ever seen it etch is on an old, severely neglected Audi wagon. The windshield was already extremely poor visibility due to wiper haze. Spotless just made it a little more noticeably worse.

Yes you're right there is a risk of light swirling. Also steel wool does shed a little bit.

Even still, I'd rather use that over a spray on acid like spotless that may etch glass and is dangerous to your health. If the waterspots are somewhat fresh, they'll polish out with a da and compound. If they're not, it takes a while.

Just use a da and microfiber cutting pad

Is there anything that will help that doesn't contain acid or doesn't require a DA?

It doesn't really effect my visibility or anything. It's just a cosmetic thing and annoying.

You can try Zaino or duragloss glass polish by hand

I've had great success using P21S paintwork cleanser and a foam applicator pad - Works like a charm!

Old post - I keep a bottle of P21s Paintwork Cleanser around. It's a great product. I too use it for glass and works excellent.
