Delorean?????

Not sure what you mean by "Finished Kit" A road ready production car has to meet all current safety and EPA standards to be a licensed car. A partiallky built or owner assembled car can be licensed as experimental and not have to meet requirements. The Delorean is bolted together as opposed to welded making it easy to assemble and replace body sections.

Erg. I was in the middle of a meeting and was hap-hazardly paying attention to what I was saying.

I'm 90% certain I read an article 3 or 4 years ago in the Chronicle that they were building ground up cars but that they have to be a combination of original, new, and repro parts, and were titled as 1981 or 2. So few had been built though because of the cost.

I did a little more research. I concur what you are saying. Sounds like they can build these on a small production basis with original and new parts incorporating an up to date, compliant power plant.

My main complaints with the car were no power steering, lousey turning radius and no power brakes. Another year or two of production and these items would have been corrected. An updated version with better power could be very cool. Nuclear power, maybe?
