I have always been a ford/honda man (not counting the volvo i had lol). But recently i got a new toyota corolla. I really enjoy it.

Ive thought about once the warranty expires doing some mods. I wanted to ask the toyota owners here how the toyota performance aftermarket is?

I know with honda the aftermarket was huge. Where with the volvo well there is no aftermarket lol

I've seen an 08 4runner supercharged with a borla exhaust.lol. can't imagine he's getting good mileage. But as for the car side of things. Coming from someone who has worked at the toyota dealership till recently.. you don't see many modded corolla's (mainly new ones) but i have heard good things about the older sport models modded

There are older Corollas here that are tricked out, mostly driven by young guys (early - mid 20's), but I haven't seen any newer ones.

i'm not really a fan of the previous gens, but this new one is very nice both inside and out. congrats on the new ride...

google and see if there are any corolla enthusiast sites, i'm sure there are plenty...

Cos of my long legs the newest corollas are the first ones i can drive...i tried an 05 and was to squashed to drive lol

Here is a lightly modded Corolla that is pretty quick

When did you have your Volvo? I have a 2009 S60 with 3 inch SS downpipe and SS performance exhaust. I also have cold air intake with Snabb 3 inch piping from the CAI to the turbo, SS brake lines and getting ready to add a new intercooler. Once I am done with all of that, it will be getting the ECU tuned. There are plenty of aftermarket parts available for most models of Volvo. I will never be without one now. I have a friend that put over 500,000 miles on one.

I got the old brick a volvo 240 i still got it its broke well no breaks plus other issues lol gonna fix the breaks this weekend

Lc engineering makes so awesome stuff for toyota.

My stock 4 cyl motor can handle up to 400 hp...without changing anything internally....using one of there turbo kits.... pretty impressive for a 4 cyl.

Check out IPD and Eurosport for decent after market parts for your 240.

I've never heard of a Volvo modded like that! Lol, have any engine or undercarriage pics?

I'll try to take some pics this week. It's a little sportier, but still gets close to 30 mpg on the road and is really comfortable on long drives. I'm thinking I'll always have a Volvo from here on. I bought my son a 240 wagon for his first car.

What kind of aftermarket parts were you thinking of installing?
Many aftermarket parts will not void a Toyota warranty as long as whatever is being repaired does not fail due to the aftermarket part.
In other words, if you get an aftermarket exhaust and your battery goes out before 3 years or 36k miles, the battery will still be warrantable.
