Which electric pressure washer? There should be a sticky

Does anyone happen to know how a 1700psi PW compares to most self service car washes? As in psi/ blasting power.

Well under a PW at a coin op, but it's more about the amount of water (GPM) than the pressure at that point.

Depending on the Coin Op you visit, most are not overly powerful in PSI, but flow a lot more water (GPM). Occasionally though, you'll go to one where the owner might not know where to draw the line on PSI that is safe for paint, and then you need to know to stay back from the surface of your vehicle to avoid damage.

Is it just mine, or do your lances not stay in the holder? Its only one side that I have a problem with and Im assuming it doesnt matter which lance is put on which side. Dont mean to hijack

I have had the ar383 for about a year now and I have used it a fair amount with no issues. My only qualm about it would be that you need to buy their accessories for it. But the only one I needed was the foam cannon and it is actually more reasonable than most out there.

No I have the same thing but I never use the turbo nozzle so I just leave that one off.

i've been telling myself for a while now, when my Husky finally bites the dust, i'll get a Sun Joe SPX3000 . i mainly clean my own vehicles and of course clean the house/concrete, so i don't need something super duper heavy duty like the Kranzle pieces.

i like the easy recourse of getting stuff like this locally in case something happens. good info on that Sam's unit vs. the Ryobi.

Thanks for the info

I've been using my $125 Karcher jobber from Walmart for years now and the thing just won't quit. If I had to do it again, I'd get another Karcher - but a model that puts out just a bit more volume and has a wheel built into it to roll up the hose.

But, I'd stick with Karcher.

I recently bought a green works from Lowes on the recommendation of a
couple people here on AGO. I love that thing. Had 2 different Karchers that I sold because I hated the cheap hard plastic water line. The green works has a braided water line, is very quiet, has the same brass gun connectors as my gas unit (can use my foam cannon on both) and quick release tips. Just my $.02

+1 here- bought my Greenworks at Lowes and love it :dblthumb2:
Works great with the foam cannon as well.

I can vouch for the Black Max pw they sell at Sam's. Bought a foam cannon to go with it and I've been pleased so far.

Re: Which electric pressure washer? Good, Better, Best?

chiming in here late...

but take it from me...

get a PW with a "quick connect " wand !!!!

Mike

Seems like experience with electric pressure washers are either really good or really bad. I'm leaning toward an AR Blue 390. It looks ok, and if it breaks, it's not so much money that I'll be really pissed about it.

OK...heres the problem with these type PW with their own style connections...

If using without foam canon....no problem...enjoy!!

I'm sure , like most will do, is to get a foam canon and watch that foam soak in and see the dirt and grime slide off...people will be amazed seeing your car totally in white foam...correct?

Heres the pain....

You just cant attach the cannon to that wand....
You will need 2 more pieces to get your cannon to work with that gun..
Then you also need to take off the wand and attached your cannon to gun...

Picture this...to wash your car...

1) Use PW and supplied wand to water down your car...
2) Unscrew the wand and attach foam canon and soak car with detergent
3) Unscrew foam canon and attach wand again to wash away foam and dirt...
4) Now that you have at least the bottle filled half-way with detergent
unscrew wand again and attach foam canon again to spray detergent on panel to wash by hand ...
Now if your doing this outdoors , you need to wash away detergent before it dries..
So more unscrewing and attaching...for each part of the car...

Get the picture?

Mike

P.S. Believe me that screwing and attaching isn't easy....a lot of force must be used

Disagree
My ryobi uses the standard foam gun. Pop off tip pop on foam gun

I bought a PowerPlay PJW1800 from Costco. It seems well put together, has a quick connect wand and was cheaper than the SunJoe. Plus it's from Costco so I'll just return it if it ever breaks :)

It's a Canadian Co but every component has an AR logo on it, so it's probably just a rebranded AR Blue Clean, but without the stupid proprietary fittings. So far I'm very pleased with it

Can a foam cannon be added easily to the Sun Joe SPX3000?

I love my Karcher K5.740 and the mating chassis cleaner for getting the salt out from under the car. I've used it a ton and not had any issues. I got both the washer and the chassis cleaner from Amazon for about $450. If it died today, I'd order the same thing again tomorrow.

With my AR it is just push in and twist and if you buy the foam cannon from them nothing else is needed.. The push in and twist can be a little tricky at first but you get the hang of it.
