Which brand

Adam's car wash and apc are two of my favorites, but they are also the only two things I have used. You can't go wrong with anything in the Megs detailer line, I use all of it. As for polishes I highly recommend Menzerna. My favorite lines all together has to be dodo juice with carpro and pinnacle coming in close seconds.

If you do various searches, there are posts that say Adam is nothing more than rebranded Duragloss.
For the money Duragloss does offer exceptional product selections. Everyone will give you their opinion, but the final decision is yours. IMO Duragloss + Collinite offer everything I need, and its does not cost alot.

+1 DG and Collinite

For true polishes Meg's is a great place to start but Menzurna seems to be a solid choice as well. Staying with polishes and compounds though, Mother's rubbing compound is awesome! We had some at our detail day this past spring and I was blown away with it, clearcoat safe and all:thumbup:

As far as LSP's go, well for me its Duragloss and Collinite. Sure I have a number of others but these products just perform, period! They're also EASY to use and inexpensive, so no reason to did down deep with them;)

What's great about this, is that you can tailor your own individual set up. We all have our own individual preferences, but we all seem to be able to accomplish out desired task.

I like the Meguiar's, Duragloss, and Zymol stuff that I use. Menzerna is also high on my priority list, with more Collinite waxes. I have the 845, and really like that a lot.

lol just like everyone said before that Adams was rebranded CG stuff. Not true.

90% of my arsenal is OPT. i started with their products around 2008 and while i've tried other things here and there, i generally stick with Optimum. everything is simple to use, flexible and a lot of it is super high tech.

for instance, i use Opti-Clean as a waterless, instant detailer, glass cleaner and interior hard surface detailer. or, the ONLY compounds and polishes i have here are OPT and 9 out of 10 times, i'm using Hyper Polish and/or Hyper Compound, no matter what the finish. just pick the right pad(s).

and most of the line is designed to work together.

plus it's literally developed in a lab by someone you can reach relatively easy.

PS - who was waiting for me to come in here waving the OPT flag? hahaha

IMO sticking with one brand limits yourself because not one brand alone has the best of everything...

if you are totally happy with the performance of something(s), it's hard for some people (like myself) to find a reason to waste the time or money to seek an upgrade. if it just happens to be within the same line, nice.

plus a properly thought-out brand will make it so their line is more or less a "system" where everything plays nice. their goal is to keep you within the brand and if they do their job, that can happen. Meguiar's, Carpro and OPT are three brands that definitely seem to follow this. i feel that if the line is sourcing their stuff from various private label suppliers, it's more likely to not mesh as well as a line where there is one brain or set of brains engineering everything to max potential.

Hyper Polish is definitely a great product. I like Hyper Compound also but it doesn't seem to have as much cut as Some others.

I agree, that's why I came here and asked about different brands. I started using Adams, I can't remember why and that's how I introduced myself to new products. I am completely open to trying different things but I felt blindly buying something different was foolish. I'm not afraid of spending money I just don't want to spend it foolishly.

Thanks

Just as you seem to have difficulty in understanding my "throw Santa idiom"...
I can't quite understand why people would ever use products that are labeled "Adam's" to begin with...idiomatically speaking, of course. :)

Bob

Hahahahaha, Ouch!!! Well played Bob... Well played

80-90% of what I have is from Meguiar's. But I also have some things from Wolfgang, Pinnacle and Detailer's Pro. You can't go wrong with any of the house brands (Wolfgang, Pinnacle, Detailers Pro, Blackfire), Menzerna, Meguiar's, Mothers. Adams is ok and I still have some Adams but I rarely use it anymore.

I have used a few Adam's products and I can't say any were bad but I can't say the any really floored me either.

For products used a reasonable amount (ie. car wash, glass cleaner, and APC) I like the Meg's Detailer line (extremely affordable). For everything else I like CarPro (tire shine, after polish oil remover, applicators for coatings, and MFM products), Menzerna polishes, and PBMG house brands have some good stuff as well.
