The Rupes UHS System - Just a few comments after using it all day...



Here's the first thing you'll like about it.

Zero dusting



Here's the second thing you'll like about it....

Super incredible long buffing cycle.

Basically it stays liquid on the surface as long as you continue to move the polisher.



The third thing,

Cuts like a light compound finishes like a fine polish.



The fourth thing...

After wipe off you can go straight to wax.



The fifth thing...

The UHS Foam Pads are like an all-in-one foam pad. They cut, polish and finish.




The UHS System is a real home run for Rupes and a game-changer for the detailing industry.

It will change the way you detail cars.


And for what it's worth... I just finished wiping it off the car I'm working on.


Also just to note...

I was in the warehouse today pulling UHS Polish/Compound and UHS Foam Pads out of boxes still on the pallet. No one around here has had time to move this new inventory from the boxes on the pallet to the shelves.

If you want some... better order some fast.

OK Mike.....3401....Rupes....I am confused and there is no Rupes book.....? How much stuff do I need....? What do you endorse?

Was going to ask if this would work on a 3401 setup? Right now I use pf2500 as my main one step.


Rupes engineers really put a lot of work into designing a "system approach". I've learned a few things about the engineering side of their "system" that was very interesting.

Suffice to say, because Marco and team invested so much time into creating a system approach I like to assume they actually know what they are doing and use the system as intended. I also try to stay on message for all the companies Autogeek carries as I have good relationships with the owners, engineers, reps, etc., for these companies.

Most of you don't have that responsibility and can use tools, pads and products willy-nilly...


That said, I was using the UHS with the Rupes Mini 12, the UHS Polishing Compound and the UHS Gray Foam Pad. And it worked perfect for doing the intricate work on the factory finish of a 17 year old 2-door sports car.

Completely understand why people use product outside the system but if you don't get the results you're looking for don't blame the products, at least not first.

I agree Frank.

This system was designed for modern harder paint systems being sprayed on assembly lines in the present.

We used the entire system, pads, product and tools on a custom paint job on a classic car and it worked perfect.

Products Used

Tonight we used the new Rupes UHS Polishing Compound and Foam pads plus the Rupes Bigfoot Orbital Polishers.

All Rupes Products

To seal the paint and create the incredible glassy looking finish we used Pinnacle Black Label products.

I've been detailing cars all my life, teaching classes on it since 1987 and here's what I know...

If a product, tool, pad etc. works... then I can make it work.

If the one of these components doesn't' work then no one can make it work.

The key component however is always the abrasive technology. It's the abrasives that are touching the paint.

Clearcoats are scratch-sensitive. They will show every defect, especially on the color black.

I do all my testing on black paints. If the abrasive technology isn't working trust me... it will show.


Now the paint itself can be a HUGE factor too... that's why you always start any car detailing project by doing a Test Spot.

I am glad you posted this Mike, I have been waiting for that little ticker to say that we could order this. I got mine on the way with a few other things and even a mystery gift!!

If I am in on that Mother's Week, do you think they will let me sneak in my Rupes 15?!

Never assume... always do a test spot...

It's worked on everything I've used it on so and I haven't really heard about any negative experiences. Time will tell.

I have a few more projects coming up, all with custom paint, not factory paint so hang tight...

I have a ton of Rupe UHS stuff coming tomorrow! I love Rupes pads, in my use, Rupes pads are more durable and work better than any pads out there. Rupes system are truly a matched system and not a color-coded gimmick.
 
I have a large order of this system coming in soon. Have heard nothing but great things coming from some of the industry's best.
