Any way to hide or minimize them? The aluminum has a coating on it so I can't get the aluminum polish to bite.

Do you have a picture? I've got something that will put a great shine on aluminum and would be able to get in a scratch. It seems like it would already be shiney where it got scratched.

I have the perfect answer, but I refuse to share it unless you post two pictures of your door sill, including a close-up

OT: you can't click on the attached thumbnails around here to expand 'em? if so, is that a mobile issue or something?

Might be a mobile thing. I no longer have a PC, personal computer, not PorterCable. End up about 2 to 3 x's the size of of a thumbnail. Not very good on a phone.

Here you go......

Ok my eyes aren't great...your talking about the little scratch by the one end in the middle? I assume you just want to make that shine then put a coating over it?

Yes, exactly.

If you PM me your info I can send you something I'm 90% sure will be able to take care of it. I don't know how quick you need it, but you if I mail it you should have it in 2-3 days...

Can't see Shi*!

So I can't say Shi*!

Thumbnails are rude

Come on Kyle, he played your game!, it's your turn. :Picture:

To OP, would help if you put a flashlight over the piece (~1 meter distant shining perpendicular to it) and take a new picture for us to better see the light scratches.

Kind Regards.

Thumbnails are always a let down

It seems that people who don't care enough to post a proper picture, are the same people who take crummy pictures

I may have missed it in this conversation but I didn't see anyone ask if there was black transfer when using metal polish?!?! If you aren't getting any black residue you aren't polishing metal, you are polishing the coating/clear over it and need to use compounds and polishes that you would use on clears. Other wise you will probably beat your head against the wall trying to make a clear shine with metal polishes. Also if you chose to remove the coating and create a great shine on the bare aluminum their are compounds out there dedicated to aluminum. I have seen many people get frustrated over the years when they cannot correct oxidized aluminum with over the counter metal polish. Its nearly the same as paint polishing - try to cut heavy oxidation using an AIO or lite polish...... it would drive you nuts! Hope all this helps :props:

For me it helped ! Thanks for comment.

OT but don't you think AG should allow a better format for their image attachment parameters? i wonder if they even know. i mean, this forum is HIGHLY dependent on visuals and imagery, yet for some reason when we try to attach an image it's 1. dumbed down to an almost unusable resolution when on a computer and 2. apparently totally useless on mobile judging from the response about the thumbnails not expanding.

i'm on other vb forums and they allow MUCH higher resolutions for attached images.

it's annoying that you have to host the image elsewhere and then use image tags to have a decent size image show up on this forum.
