What are prep steps to polish?

I understand, the iron x, to wash, to clay.
My question is the using uber compound polish, to finishing glaze3.0 , to wolfgang sealant wax. My tools are flex 3401.
What do I tape off?
Pinstripe, edges,?
How or do I buff to edge of panels?
Do I remove tape to apply wax back over pinstripe?

It's amazing how simple a DA polisher looks on a flat hood on videos, I want videos of doors, edges, the real difficult spot.

If it's your own car and you have time, just read more and watch a lot more YouTube videos. I've learned all I know by just following the threads here and watching videos.
 
Wish mike held a class in North Carolina...that be awesome..
Won't be anywhere near Florida near future.:(

Don't forget about things like:
-"The Baggie Test"
-"The Test Spot"
-"Least Aggressive First"
-Etc., etc.

My 2 cents and answer.. I tape off the black plastic pebble grain trim and tape a big towel on the windshield over the wipers. You can burn off pin stripes so go light over them. If you were to wet sand then tape edges also. You are off to a great start with some of the best products and tools available. If this is your car i say go for it and you will get more comfortable handling the difficult spots with putting the time in. If you want to really get tuff spots there is a tool for everything on autogeek. The new flex PE8 has pads as small as 1 inch for precision polishing.

I really wish I belonged to the forum before I had already gotten really into detailing. I honestly believe if I had been a member earlier and took the time to read (no skimming! Seriously, take the time and read it) every article on that list, whether or not it pertained to what I was going to do or tools I had, that I would have done 100% better.
I really mean it.
