LC plate kit for the Flex

There are two very thin washers, or shims, that come with the kit. They have to go between the adapter plate and the backing plate. I assume you use both of them with both plates. Can anyone confirm this for me? Watching the video of them changing out the plates I don't see them being used.

The 2 thin washers are only used with the 6" plate.

Why not with the other smaller plat from the kit, it fits nicely?!?

You should use both shims/washers...for whichever LC plate you use. They help reduce heat transfer b/w drive head and plate/pad.

I also oil felt ring as Mike recommends to reduce friction heat.

While there is only one place the shims can logically go I wasn't sure if they were used with both plates. I don't believe I have any print on the bag my kit came in. Didn't have my glasses on so it is possible I missed that. Thanks again.

When you use the shims with the 4 inch face plate it doesn't mate with the backing plate correctly. Only use the shims with the 6 inch.
