How many of you use a MACHINE to WAX your vehicle?

For the longest time, I've always hand waxed my cars... but that's been using cheap OTC products.
This year was the first time I used higher end products and a DA polisher to apply Sealant to my cars.

No going back now!
As long as you have the right tools and products, fast and easy with no scratches.
 
Half the time ................ I still find hand waxing enjoyable at times ................
 
Twice I attempted waxing by machine and both times I switched to hand waxing. I just enjoy the control of hand waxing especially around edges, trim and emblems. I do use a buffer with a lambs wool leveling pad and microfiber bonnet for removing wax.
 
always hand wax. Reluctant to use machine because I fear I will damage the paint. Also from what I read hand waxing is quicker

Just machine waxed with my GG3 today. Incredibly fast to apply, much, much faster than hand application could ever be. The real value is the application is even, consistent and thin, which is very difficult to achieve by hand.
 
I only use a machine for correction work, I prefer having the control doing my waxes or sealants by hand.

The major advantage of machine application besides it being much faster which equals efficiency, machine application gives you the ability to apply the product in a much more consistent uniform manner. One of the most common complaints I've read over the years on this forum is about lsp's and removability. In many cases that is due to over application of product and is usually due to hand application. You also use much less product when applying by machine.

It is virtually impossible to get this type of application by hand.

And 1 of the drawbacks is not having as much control around edges/rubber trims. It presents a problem not only because some lsps aren’t plastic/rubber trim friendly and also because even if they are, you run risk of turning your pad black if you accidentally go over them, and I don’t like the idea of applying lsp with a caked black pad, even if it’s minimally stained.

Ever heard of tape? As far as losing control, that is totally operator dependent.

To each their own, you go your way and I'll go my way.
 
Personally I don’t have that issue because my choice of sealant doesn’t stain trims nor do I apply it via machine so my applicator stays clean for the most part.

But generally speaking people don’t like to go through the trouble of having to tape down everytime they wax their vehicle.
 
I get more even application. When applying this thinnest coat of something it's the way to go. I use a DA with a waxing (non-cutting) pad. I apply by hand more often, but likely get better results with the DA. As far as trim, I just do those areas first by hand so I don't have to get my pad right up against the trim.
