After reading a couple posts in other threads about wanting to meet up and exchange products, meet and greet, etc I thought I'd make a thread for it here.

To starts things off I'd say its NOT going to be a detail day like we've had in the past but rather more of meet and greet and maybe exchange products with others, see how things work (i.e. waterless or rinseless wash) or maybe how certain products work, for example Meg's DUB wheel cleaner for instance. Now I know this sounds like what we've done at our detail days in the past but I can tell you it takes some work to set these things up, sending out email and PM's to sponsors which I'm thankful to to this day (AG. Aerospace 303, Mothers and Duragloss to name a few, not to mention our host Jeff at the Car Cave last year). Just getting someone to donate their shop is a huge undertaking as in most cases they like things to be a certain way and you never know who's going to show up and how they'll respect things. This has NEVER been an issue with our past groups I should mention.

Ok, with that said, I'd like to hear all ideas as to what you'd guys like to do. For instance, should we meet up at a park and find a shady area and get crackin'? Then go out for dinner afterwards? Maybe someone with a 3 car garage wants to step up and we'd have at it there? Its up to you guys. We really don't even need a donor car unless our host has one and we do that, its up to everyone. I really want this to a little more "loose" but still organized to a point, if that makes sense.

Alright, let's hear from the Chicagoland area, noobs and vets, speak upFeed back please

I'd love to attend, even if it's just an exchange and dinner. Of course, it would be even better to watch some of you seasoned vets display your talents.

It could also be something as simple as one of the members has to do his or her annual detail and have others watch/contribute and learn.

Alternately, we can just go to Wild Wings, watch ball game and talk detailing.

I agree Kevin and the idea of someone who was planning on doing their own paint correction/LSP is a great one. That person doesn't have to have people help per say but could have others benefit from watching them for sure.

This is a great time for a mass washing while this is going on too, great photo opt as we'll🎥

Let's hear from everyone on this as we've got plenty of time to make something of this.

IM with you guys. WE could meet at a park , discus various products , and try different products on a doner car. We have a long time to get input from various guys on what everybody wants to do. The last meet was great, but was too much work for Klasse Act to set up.

Will it ever be warm again? Will our cars ever be clean again?

Will this snow ever melt?

I'm down as always!!

I'm sure I can bring a friend or two who know detailing as well.

I'm really liking the idea of the park for sure, sounds great. I can't wait to see people driving/walking/biking by and see all these people with their 2 buckets and towels and various sprAY bottles and brushes going to town📣

I have been following this since you started it earlier. I just didn't know if you had something in mind? Unless someone offers a warm shop, I'm staying put until the weather breaks! :D

Oh it will most certainly be warmer when we have this for sure!

Cool. I'm due for some Chicago Mix from Garrett Popcorn. Might even catch a taxi up to Giordano's on Michigan Avenue.

They can't call it "Chicago Mix" anymore, some other company owns the. (W)right to that name now, seriously😲

You know your pizza though!

I am interested Roger. Enjoyed last year's get together.

I'll be following along to see when and where.

Checked Garrett's website and your right....now called Garrett Mix.

I'll be there too, but maybe in a different ride. And no I won't bring the wife's booboo van.

I would like to throw this out to the group. Even though this isn't a sponsored detail day like our last two were, I think it would be cool to bring along some samples or products you don't really use anymore but someone else might like to. Now I'm not talking about old crap or anything like that but rather excessive amounts of stuff you've got. This is a good time to get some 2 oz bottles and start filling and marking them for give aways or trades.

This is going to be much much looser then past detail days, I wanna be able to do what I'd like to do and not trying to rally the troops so to speak. We always seem to get noobs to come out and this is really best, then they can see rinseless washes and various products in action.

Ideas and comments are welcome:props:

Roger,

I'd enjoy that. Honestly, I have tons of stuff that I tried (and liked) but settled on coatings as my LSP. So, I've got waxes and sealants and quite a bit of polish that is just sitting. All of it <2y of age. It's probably still just fine. It just sits in my cabinet, and I'll probably never use it again.

I'd be happy to give out 2-4 oz samples of the stuff to anyone -- or even the bottles of what remains!

That...and Italian beef.

Sounds like we've got a vote for Portillo's for food👍

This sounds great. I've just gotten started with a GG 6 and would love some tips and advise. I would bring an older S10 black Blazer that my two daughters have learned to drive on that I want to do some paint correction on. Can't beat Portillo's too!
