My long time buddy got this car for his son Andrew ,who I consider my nephew ,having had a small hand in helping him grow into the Nice Individual he has and going to Aeronautical Engineering College in FL .I thought what better gift to show him how proud of him I am ,then to do my best to make his first ride look as best it can .He has only seen pics so far . It was a very straight car ,well cared for and with exception of being severely oxidized and super dirty in those areas the average Joe doesn't clean, it is an overall nice car . This is my first SS White paint I've corrected . Getting a uniform gloss seemed would be my biggest challenge . Our plan was to just get some gloss back . I found Lake Country Orange Flat w/ OPT Hyper polish worked well doing really slow section passes and .. Allot of them . I thought for sure I'd have to go more aggressive ,but I did not . I spent 3 (loong)days on the paint alone . I used my Porter Cable XP . Shew , this polisher owes me nothing after this . I think he'll be happy .

my camera isn't that good , it doesn't show how bad the finger nail marks are....were.

this was more dusty then anything , simple green & Stoner Trim shine helped it out allot.

thanks for looking !

Nice work!

That 040 white on Toyota loves to oxidize, but it is fun to work on.

Thanks everyone ! Charleston , yeah it was fun , slow going but fun to work with , tenblade if I can do it , you surely can :)

Thanks again for the kind words everyone :)

I had the same challenge several years back with the same car and color, also extremely neglected paint. That was the only time I ever had to resort to yellow pads on my Cyclo using the stoutest Menzerna available at that time. I concur, it was indeed a bunch of work. Your hard work shows very well :dblthumb2:

Looks like Dr. Colorchip is in order for the front of that little bugger.

RTexasF ,
I was big time surprised that Hyper/Orange did what it did , I wasn't on a time limit so that played a huge factor I'm guessing .

I think he actually was going to get touch up paint the day after I finished it . Previous owner musta been a tailgater lol

Thanks so much for compliment ;)

I have a SS white Toyota truck to do soon, nice to see there is still so much shine left in that old paint. It belongs to my girlfriend's son so this will be another freebie.

Gotu Love a Freebie :) This car had 189,000 on the clock so yeah you should be able to bring the gloss back .. Pretty rewarding

wow, looks awesome! I too also like working on single stage. The difference polishing makes imo is a greater difference than the bc/cc so before and afters with it are fantastic!

Really good job :)
