Sign-up: 1947 Plymouth Coupe Streetrod - Show Car Makeover

Starting at 5:00pm on Thursday, April 23rd we'll be doing a show car makeover to my buddy Paul's 1947 Plymouth Coupe. The paint is actually in pretty good condition it just needs a little polishing to take it to true show car quality status.

Can I sign up, but may come a little late?

Have an exam that ends at 5, but may finish early enough to beat traffic.

Are we gonna use 3D products since they were just released on AG?

Wow! Thats a nice looking ride! :dblthumb2:

I like that! Also I have a soft spot for pin stripes too. Really nice, subtle rod.

Hey Mike - any chance you could snap a pic or two of the interior, under the bonnet while you have it there please? I'd love to sign up & check it out for myself . . . buuuuut . . sorry, can't make it.

Have fun team!

When I was in high school I was the only guy in my class that had what you can call an "old car". I bought and fixed up a 1948 Plymouth Coupe. I had mine painted 1976 Ford Truck Bright Red in single stage enamel as basecoat/clearcoat paints had not been introduced until 1980. This is the only picture I have of it at this time....

I share the story about the above car and how it led me to where I'm at today when Dennis Gage interviewed me for his show My Classic Car.

Dennis Gage interviews Mike Phillips

So Paul's 1947 Plymouth Coupe brings back a lot of memories.

bump on these two questions.

Also can my gf come? She's new to the detailing scene, but she wants to learn! I figure this is as good as any time with all the pros around :)

Mike, sign me up. There's a lot of metal to polish on that Plymouth.

Please sign me up, Mike. Looking forward to another great session. Thanks!

***Update***

I've updated the sign-up list and added everyone's names.

Also we'll have a few new people here I've met at recent cars shows, (Wheels across the pond), and the Tuesday Night CarSpa Car Show that Autogeek sponsors.

Plus Sam from my boat detailing class is going to try to attend.

For all the regular core group of guys, lets everyone work together to show these guys proper technique and garage protocols.

Thanks!

Certainly you can arrive a little late you just might miss out on most of the action.

As for products, we'll probably use the products Wayne Carini uses at his shop. Good enough for Wayne good enough for all our local car guys.

You bet Roshan, we love having ladies join us for our car detailing projects.
