If you are going to wash, dry, then clay, you can probably bypass the paint cleanser.

Applying by hand is fine, work it in well, but remember to apply a thin, even coat.

I believe directions state that the sealant must sit and cure upon the paint surface for 30-45 minutes before removal. Also, no rain or water on the vehicle for at least 12 hours after.
