Wetsanding issues

So, I wetsanded many times before. But, this time, I just don't know what went wrong. I was working on a 2003 Corvette gas door. Had a small scratch in the clear, so I did my usual and wetsanded it out. Went over with some M205 then on to the 365 sealer. Car looked great.

I ran into the car again like a month later. Did a once over and noticed that the spot in which was wetsanded was extremely dull like I had never even polished it at all.

What could have went wrong????

Sounds like you didn't actually remove all the sanding marks. The polishing oils in the M205 probably restored gloss and clarity and after some time has gone by the true results are now showing.

Hit the area again only consider using a true compound to star with and then follow using the M205. M205 is what I would consider a fine cut polish.

In the world you have in order,

1. Aggressive compounds
2. Medium Cut Polishes
3. Fine Cut Polishes
4. Ultra Fine Cut Polishes

So you're using a product at the least aggressive end of the scale.

Cool! So, more like a m105, then the m205, then the sealer right?
