I have a black cl BENZ

I did M100 on a 5 inch microfiber cutting disc at the 6 setting on the HF DA.

I followed it up with a white polishing pad with M205 at the 4 setting

Swirls are gone and paint looks good but there is still some small spider webbing

How do I get rid of the spider webbing to get perfect paint

Could be a lot of options. More info would be great to help you decide, even a pic would be nice if you can capture the swirls. How old is the paint? What condition was it in when you started? Did you see the spider webbing after you corrected the surface with M100?

All in all, I don't think 205 will fix your problem if the scratches are so deep that the M100 didn't remove them.

Or, is he seeing micro marring from the M100, and M205 wasn't quite enough to get it out? We need pics.

Ok. I will take pics

So, are you seeing the spider web scratches on the left side of that body panel? Looked pretty good in comparison to the right side.

Yes on the left side

Is it the 205 not finishing ?

I can't see much spider webbing on the left side, certainly see the scratches on the right side. I see small specs and spots on the left, all of which may just be more permanent damage. I don't think you've said how old the car is yet.

Another thought is, the swirls and scratches, if deep enough, may require more than one application of M100. Normally I will achieve whatever level of perfection I'm searching for with the heavier compound (M100 in your case), 205 is just to clear any buffer trails. I don't look for 205 to remove something that M100 hasn't removed.

The car is 14 years old. The specs are permanent

Sorry I can't offer you more, the finish looks pretty good for a 14 year old paint. I'm always hesitant to polish too much on a daily driver for fear of removing the already thinning clear coat. Sometimes it's best to live with a few defects.

As an afterthought, maybe you could try a different style white pad with your 205? It may clean up the hazy finish a little better. Which pad did you use?

White polishing

I am new here and know very very little so take any of my thoughts with a grain of salt, but in order to prevent any more thinning to your clear coat could you use a glaze to fill in the spider webbing that is left?

Yes you could.

Even a paste wax like megiuars gold glass

But the customer didn't want any fillers

Most white pads are not the choice for finishing on black paint.

So do one more step.

What were the paint readings? Did I miss it?
