First off let me say Thank You to the Autogeek/Autopia forums for providing a place for us to showcase our work and to share knowledge about detailing. Without this place this car would not have been saved!

So Thursday night I receive a call from a local gentlemen. He tells me that he had his black SI Civic compounded by a body shop after having the rear bumper sprayed. He then tells me that it's covered in holograms and looks horrible. After a little small talk I ask him how he found out about me. His answer- " I found some of your write ups while searching on the Autogeek forums." From here he found my facebook page and realized I was real close to him and he immediately contacted me. So we setup for him to drop off Friday night and I would complete the car on Saturday.

Boy was he not lying about the damage done by the body shop. They really hammered down with a rotary. I will let the following pics take it from here.

Wheels were prepped with Iron-X and Tires cleaned with Tuffshine tire cleaner.

There was also a ton of compound in the cracks, jambs, moldings etc etc.

After washing and a light prep with a fine nanoskin mitt I was able to start polishing.

Polishing was handled with my 3401, orange pad and FG400. I finished with HD Speed a white pad then topped with Nattys red. Tires were dressed with Blackfire Total Eclipse tire shine.

Before.

After compounding.

50/50

WOW! That's some amazing work man. You saved that horrendous buffing job from the body shop... The car now looks perfect and brand new! Extremely glossy too.

What did the owner say when he picked up his car?

He was astounded and I now have a customer for life. As soon as his wife saw it when he got home he called to book an appointment for his wifes SUV

Congrats on getting the customer for life. That's the best compliment one could get. :props:

Great save. The Si really came out amazing. The picture that I think is really impressive is the 50/50 shot, not only did you remove the defects but you also knocked down some of the factory orange peel. The finish is truly better then new.

I checked out your Facebook and their is some equally impressive work their as well. I know you said your customer in this post found you from Facebook but I was just wondering if you find that social media helps to bring in a lot of clients.

Great work yields great results. Not only did you treat that Civic to a new life, but you reaped the rewards of a stoked customer and who knows how much future business. Word gets around. Excellent work, Sir. Well done!:dblthumb2:

Peace,

Darrin

Yeah buddy! Nice save Justin! FG400 to the rescue.

Looks like FG400 finished up pretty well on that Jet Black Civic. Where would you have placed the paint on the softness scale? It's a shame that Menzerna PP Ultra is not available in the states. It posses the polishing powder of SF4000...

Thanks for sharing good sir. Nicely done.

Thank you for the kind words. Being that I am only part time right now doing this I would say that my Facebook brings in a little bit of work. Most of my work is word of mouth advertising and repeat clients

Thanks you sir. That's what it's all about. Being professional and being able to provide a service that customers are happy with.

Thanks Mike! One thing I didn't mention was that this car had a full respray at one point under warranty from Honda. That job was of good quality. I will say though this paint was on the soft side. I had to be gentle with my microfiber rag while wiping off product.

BTW, the car looks incredible with the amount of work you put into it.

Awesome work and nice save! Glad to see another detailer who reaches for Speed after correcting with FG400 and the 3401 :xyxthumbs:
