Crazy I am I guess. Anyhow not only is this my first black car but I live in a small town with sand roads of all things. Its a 78 Z28 which will be just a weekend toy. Regardless I need some insight as to what polish/sealant/combination/application looks the best on a black car. I have to detail it and polish out the paint to perfection which I can handle. However I just don't know what products to use to make it look its best and protect it when I am done. The car is identical to the one I pictured here and I want it to shine just as nice as the one pictured does in the end.
I use Megs compounds and pads etc but I don't have a problem using anyone's wax's and sealing products to achieve the best end result, I just need to know what they are. THanks

It's all in the polishing. Polish it to perfection and Turtle Wax will look good.

i use blackfire's Wet Diamond sealant on my 06 silver impala. Great shine and a very slick finish. Fyi i work in a gravel pit so i only do a wash once a week, and with that being said there isn't usually to much dirt on it.. Mainly just dust and even then just a thin layer. The worst part is the tires and just down around the bottom of the door where the wheel shoots stuff. Definetly recommend it

Considering your road conditions:
I wouldn't use any Waxes (natural LSPs);
Sealants (synthetic LSPs) would be my preference.

Staying with Meguiar's:
-Meguiar's M21 2.0 Sealant

I would seal it or coat it. Autogeek has a good selection of each

Yeah that!

I have a new black Chevy Colorado. I polished it with M205 and sealed it with M21 and it looks great. In fact, shortly after my truck was polished and sealed I was back at the dealership and I parked next to (actually directly behind) a brand new black Silverado they had there. When I looked across the lot from about 50 ft. away my truck just glistened like crazy in comparison.

I'm not saying that the M21 is the absolute best you can do because I obviously haven't tried every other option, but my truck looks good enough to me that I see no need to try anything else.

Thanks for the replies so far guys, any other suggestions out there?

Souveran Paste wax looks incredible on black paint. I would only do so after polishing properly and if car is going to be garage kept. If not, a sealant or coating would be a better choice.

Yes the car is going to be garage kept with a cover

WG Fuzion, I just finished putting this on mine. I love this stuff :buffing:

It's in the garage and those are palm trees in the neighbors yard across the street!

That's also the new Blackfire Trim Protectant on my rear diffuser.
