I consider myself pretty good at detailing for an amateur. My weakness is glass. I have tried different cleaners and products. I know the golden rule is to stay out of the sun and the glass must be cool. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Fast glass or similar towels with distiller water.

Clean with the wetted fast glass and dry with a large waffle weave.

For very dirty glass, start with a glass cleaner and MF cloth, then proceed to fast glass.

Do the inside up & down and the outside side to side. This way if you get any streaking you know if it's in or out. I like to get down and look up at the glass at an angle to see any streaks

Hey!!! Great idea!!!

How I clean my glass during my weekly wash:
  • Step 1: Rinse and foam lance then rinse again
  • Step 2: Two bucket wash and dry (WW towel)
  • Step 3: Clay, and dry (depending how long it's been since you last clayed the glass)
  • Step 4: Dry buff the glass using glass specific microfiber towels (buff until they don't feel grabby)
  • Step 5: Use a non-ammonia glass cleaner (Bon Ami glass cleaner or Stoner Invisible Glass) and buff dry with dry glass specific microfiber towels.
  • Step 6: Inspect, if your glass still doesn't look good, it's time to glass polish!

My window's never looked so good, so good in fact people tell me my windows are down all the time...

The Cobra Waffle Weave Microfiber Glass Towel cleans & buffs glass to crystal clarity with the soft texture of genuine Cobra microfiber.
These towels with your favorite glass cleaner work well. Remember to fold the towel in fourths and switch to a clean side often.

I use these to wipe down the glass, sometimes twice if they are really dirty. This almost always leaves some sort of streaks, especially towards the end as even though I fold to clean sides of the towel, it still gets pretty wet. After that I take the below microfiber with the very low pile side and buff them off.

Also, other than the outside of the front and back windshield, I always spray the towel, and not the glass its self.

I use Poorboys World Glass cleaner with plenty of paper towels and follow that with a microfiber glass towel. I also use Sprayway glass cleaner and have had really good luck with both. The secret for me is to make sure that rags are clean and change them often.

My glass is in good shape, the car is new. I have clay bar and Pinnacle glass coated them. Can you give me some examples of glass specific microfiber? I think that is my biggest issue now is the towels. The DP glass cleaner and the Pinnacle Glass Coat are good products.

I never spray the glass also but this pic really has me thinking it is my current microfiber. Thanks

What makes MF glass towels different from MF car towels?

I do not know what makes them different but regular microfiber leaves microfibers on the glass when using a cleaner and not water.

The waffle microfiber may not. I need to get a smaller one of those as mine is way to big for the interior no matter how many times you fold it

Huck towels & Stoner's invisible glass.

Wet one towel thoroughly with Stoner"s, clean glass, & follow with a clean dry Huck towel.

IMO - there is no better towel for glass than the Huck surgical towels.

2 towel method. spray glass and scrub with one, switch and dry with second. launder glass towels separate from wax/polish towels. back glass on inside will commonly need scrubbed 2x since consumers rarely clean them. the interiors vinyl outgassing will put a heavy film on them. Nathan

I really like Meguiar's Glass Cleaner concentrate (I buy it in 5 gallons and dilute it) and Adams Glass Cleaner. In my opinion, there's no better towel to use for cleaning glass than a waffle weave towel.
