The swirl remover cleaned right out of the LC flat pads I used this last weekend, but the PB polish with sealant is a B**CH. I have the Pinnacle pad cleaner spray, but it doesn't seem to be working very well on the AIO. I assume because of the sealant in the product?

Is there a pad I should use that will absorb less product and maybe make clean up a bit easier? Or a different cleaner that will breakup the product in the pad a little better?

Thanks.

also have that issue with sealant; guys on this recommended spraying pad with aio cleaner, then soaking pads overnight in hot water with dish detergent; tried it, and it took couple of times to remove sealant; so from now on will blot excess with terry cloth and store for next use

Try spraying with mineral spirits, working it in and then letting it soak in soapy water or ONR. I'll use a pressure washer sometimes as well afterwards. I just secure them on a grit guard when I do.

Meguiar's Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner is the only thing that worked for me.

I got the pad wet, spritzer the face and agitated (gloved hand), and rinsed thorough with cold water.

The pads were red buff and shine, and red Hex Logic

Normal compound and polish and waxes usually come out with some APC + Dawn, but for sealants(Powerlock, BFWD, WGDGPS, Duragloss, etc) I usually opt for squishing mineral spirits into the pads, thoroughly rinsing, spray and squish IPA, thorough rinse with dish soap, rinse again. All with gloves, of course.

I have a thing where I need my pads to be super clean(if they're dirty I don't like using them) so this is what I do... think another member on here posted about this method a long time ago and it works great. Takes a lot of time though, so usually I dedicate a pad to whatever LSP I'm using with it.

I use Dawn dish detergent. Mixed with some HOT water in a sprayer, soak it in real good then rinse with hot water. Seems to work very well on my AIO pads ( Megs D151 ) and works for my finishing pads with M26.

clean best you can, dry it out, then into a ziploc bag labeled with the product so you can keep using it for that product only. Life's too short.

That was kinda where my head was at before I posted this.

But I will give a few of these a try and see how they work...

I used that have that problem. I purchased a pad washer and let me tell you, it does an amazing job at cleaning pads! I no longer have to change pads several times during a correction. I wash the pad after every pannel and it comes out almost like new. When I am done with the car I do a final wash and the pad is ready to be used on the next detail. I kinda regret having purchased 5 of each type of pad now. I really don't need that many with a pad washer.

My cleaning regiment:
Spray pad with XMT pad cleaner, bury pad in MF towel and fire up machine on highest speed.

Spray some more XMT, the hold pad under cold water and keep rinsing until there is no more product visible when wringing out the pad

Lastly, toss the pad in the washer with the used MF towels (I pre soak those in a bucket) and wash with the MF Detergent.
