Menzerna 400 vs M101

I'm curious if anyone has had experience with Menzerna 400 verses Meguiars M101? Any feedback with buffing cycles, finish and cutting ability would be appreciated.
 
M101 > FG400 in terms of cut

M101 is considerably dustier in my experiences, and it cuts very fast. FG400 dusts less and requires more working time for better results.

Finish depends a lot on the machine, pad, technique, and vehicle you're working on. Both can finish down very nicely, but it is never a bad idea to follow either up with a finishing polish for maximum gloss and refinement.

We keep both in our stockpile, but grab M101 way more than FG400.

I used to have M101 and now I only have FG400. Less dusting and IMO more effective in correcting. Some may think otherwise. This is just from MY experience.

I used to use FG400 all the time, but if I am grabbing something to get rid of defects fast, then it's 101 or 100.

I like getting my correction done quickly and then leaving more time for refinement.

Currently, I'm using M105 followed by M205 on rotary buffer. I started using the Meguiar's new style foam cutting pad, which has an updated type of foam. I've noticed that the pad seems to effect the buffing cycle more to the extent of shorting it more than before. For instance, after buffing the area for a short period of time, the pad will dry and grab the paint surface. This is also true if I mist the pad with water to try to help extend the buffing cycle. I will say that this experience is something that doesn't happen when I use the Soft Buff 2.0 cutting pads. This is even after priming the pad aka "kevin brown" style. Moreover, changing pressure and pad speed doesn't seem to effect what the pad is doing. The speed on the buffer varries from 5 to 6 setting, which is 1350 to 1450 rpm. However, I don't notice this with the LC pads. As a result, I was curious, if the M101 will work better with the Meguiar's New Style Foam Cutting Pads.
 
I find FG400 to gum up and get grabby on the paint more often than M101.

We are also talking a DAT polish compared to a SMAT polish....

M101 does have a considerably longer working cycle than M105 in my experiences, however I have not done testing that fits your exact parameters, therefore I cannot guarantee anything. In general, I think everyone would agree that M105 has the shortest working cycle when comparing M100, M101, and M105.

Zach, what are you thoughts about the M100, compared to the M101?

I honestly don't have much experience with M100 as we really love M101, so I will let someone else chime in who has more time with both M101 and M100.

What rotary do you own that has a speed setting 5=1350rpm and speed 6=1450rpm?

I am the opposite. I use M100 more than 101. I had a sample of M101 that I used on my truck and can say that it cuts great and leaves a great finish. M100 gives me a longer working cycle that M105 as well. It finishes down really nice, still leaves some hazing, which is easily cleaned up with M205.
You can actually get by with it on a finishing pad as well for a little extra cut.
I will get some M101 as well in the near future.
