Thanks guys!
Since I live up in Sweden half the stuff you guys are using is pretty hard to get by around here. I get most of my stuff from the UK.

DoDo Purple Haze is really awesome too on black, I've had that on my GC and that's from the UK.

I collect waxes like my wife collects shoes :buffing:

Thanks Mike!

Nice collection you got there:)

I red here somewhere that M16 is not available in the U.S. any longer, is that because of environmental issues?

Thanks... hard to find some of these antique products.

It's because the EPA is out of control. The story as to why M16 is no longer available can be found on MeguiarsOnline.com. I wrote it and what it explains is that the EPA mandated new stricter VOC laws and as such everyone in the car detailing world was supposed to reformulate their product to make them EPA compliant.

Meguiar's reformulated products according to two priorities,

1. The product could only be reformulated if the changes to the formula did not have a negative affect on the performance of the product.

2. The research and development costs required to reformulate the product were not cost prohibitive in relationship to the sales of the product.

M16 did not make the cut.

It's still for sale around the world but not in the EPA world of America.

One thing for sure, a simple can of wax is not the root cause of all the pollution in the world and this is especially true for other countries. America for the most part is a very environmentally responsible country and that's because historically the people of America at their roots are good people and this equate to being good stewards of their resources for the benefit of all others into future generations.

:)

I couldn't agree more with you Mike on the root problem you describe!!
I live, as I've said before, in Sweden. And Sweden has got some sort of baby-brother-complex and believes that a small change in a very small country makes all the difference in the world. When we in reality probably could crank up every coal factory in the entire country and still wouldn't be able to tell a difference in the carbon dioxide footprint. But that's just my 2 cents... :)

Have a nice weekend now!!

I'm down to just 2 and 1/2 tins of M16!
IMHO:
•You detailing guys in Sweden need to become
more environmentally responsible.
-Sending several case-loads of M16 to my residence
would go a long ways toward the reaching that goal.

And Sweden...believes that a small change in a very small country makes all the difference in the world.
Speaking of changes...small and/or large;
(and, if I'm remembering correctly):

Wasn't it Sweden that led the way in the changing
of the definition of gender, as being only binary?

Hahaha, just PM me your address an ill see what I can do :)

That's more than I know but I wouldn't be surprised if your right. Wether or not it's true, it still sounds strange.

For most cars exterior care thorough wash&wax shampoo, clay bar & wax will do the job, good that some people still do it :wow:
Detailing in other words is just cleaning the cars.
This is some part of my vintage polish & wax collection from the 70's & 80's which I still proudly use.

CBM is from Brunello, place that to most people associates with full bodied red wines.

Living in Sweden I wonder if you use some Made in Sweden car care products because there are few companies that make such, I remember from Automechanika Frankfurt then I was there in 2012 for example Pad Scandinavia AB HOME||Welcome that make polishing pads, microfibers, sponges.
There was also nice Swede guy owner of Glas-Weld System AB he had on exhibition professional headlight restoration kit (I almost bought it) but it looked like very same system made by Motip Dupli that cost much less or about 30-40 Euros http://www.motipdupli.de/fileadmin/...heinwerferset/ColorMatic-Scheinwerfer-Set.pdf (from what I understood Glasweld doesn't produce it, they just order it maybe even from Motip Dupli & they only change the label name).

Lahega Kemi AB must be good quality Lahega Kemi | Autorange ...interesting if you know about this & other such Swedish companies.

Finally very successful in Germany is KWH Mirka Ltd. MIRKA - A World Leader in Abrasives Technology from Finland known simply as Mirka. They easily beat on quality many German professional car care companies.
More or less this is my knowledge about Scandinavia

buy way of Poland, I just ordered some :)

I got a can from that guy too. When I opened it, the wax had that "pudding-like" consistency that people talk about. I couldn't get it to firm up again so I stirred it and put it in a squeeze bottle and now it's liquid M16

I know a lot of guys don't think this wax has any lifespan on the car, but this was applied in early July before we left Des Moines. Had a pretty nice rain last night, and the M16 is still going really strong.

I started using M16 in the mid 90s, and I still love using it. I was running out of my last can, and luckily found 3 cans from someone here on the forums. Couldn't be happier to have found more.

You're so right about the washing and waxing is enough for most clients cars. Off course it depends on the state of the paint but usually it will do the trick:)

I sure do speak Swedish, anything you want me to translate for you?

Lahega is found in a lot of gas stations and supermarkets. I've never personally used them but I haven't heard anything bad about them either.

I agree with you, I also find M16 to withstand a whole lot of beating and still going strong.
I usually hit my car weakly with D156 when drying my car after washing it.
This off course makes it hard to tell which one is making the beading:)
