New Compound... Optimum Hyper 2015 or 3D AAT?

He's talking about the new white Hyper Compound, which is different from last year's orange Hyper Compound (now called Intensive Polish), which was different from the blue Hyper Compound.

I see I'm not the only one that gets tired of the name change game at OPT.

How's the "wipe off" with the OPT spray compounds/polishes? Living in a humid environment, it can make using and removing some compounds/polishes a real challenge.

I wasn't really impressed with the 3D 501 compound after all the hype....at least not in terms of cut, but it was still good. I haven't used the new Opt compound so can't comment on that one.

My current go to compound is Griot's Fast Correct, but M100, and especially M101 are what I reach for when I need heavy cut.

You should consider trying the Meg's or Griot's Fast cut MF pads too if you haven't tried them yet. Paired with any compound they should increase cut a noticeable amount over the foam backed pads. :props:

I dont recall ever having wipe off problems with any of Optimum Hyper products including the new compound. Infact the newest one wiped off super easy. But it seems like a dry formula. Not buttery like hyper polish. And I also picked up a gallon of Griots Fast Correct. Hoping its as good as Rasky says.

3 small drops after a primed pad. :props:

Chad,

I used Fast Correcting and Correcting Creams last week and both were hard to wipe off. Correcting Cream was more of an oily wipe off while Fast Correcting Cream was almost like 105 used to be - almost had to scrub it off.

I'm trying to figure out how much heat/humidity play a factor with this. Fast Correct & Correct aren't the only compounds/polishes I have issues with wiping off, just the 2 I've tried most recently.

I don't have wipe off issues with other products like Sonax Cutmax, Rupes Keramik Gloss & Rupes UHS .

My only gripe with the BOSS polishes is that they could be easier to wipe off. I found them to be on par with the likes of HD Adapt, 3D 501, and the Hyper Polish I have (older version).

How are Sonax Cutmax, Rupes Keramik Gloss in terms of cut, finish, and dusting? Seems to always be a trade off in at least one areas and with the BOSS polishes they seemed do to very well in all categories except the easy wipe off. Reducing the amount of product applied has helped me, but they are still not like D300, M205, HD Polish easy to remove.

FWIW I'm working in a climate controlled environment so I may not have had some of the issues you're seeing for that reason.

UHS has been great. Great cut, easy wipe off and no dusting.

At least back in the spring before it got hot, CutMax was fantastic. Little to no dusting, great cut & finish and easy wipe off.

Like CutMax, I haven't used Keramik Gloss since it got hot out, but in the spring it was great to work with. Just like UHS & CutMax, wipe off was incredibly easy and little to no dusting.

I have way too many different compounds and polishes in my arsenal - always wanting to try something new. I'll break out the 3 again soon and see how they do with the heat and report back.

it's humid here in the summer and i work in a closed garage at night (bugs and the lights, you know)

wipes off fine. i use those 2.0 yellow fellows with light mist of ONR wash dilution on cloth. old habit.

i agree that it isn't as..uhhh..."liquid like" as OHP. it's more dry, if that makes any sense.

Deciced to give it a try with the new compound. Didnt work well at all. To thick I guess. But other than that I liked it. Cut real nice, didnt dust, wiped off easy. Looking forward to messing with it some more.

Exactly, hard to keep up sometimes. I've really liked all versions of hyper polish. Really want to know how this new version of compound performs. I may have to buy some.

Hard to keep up with so many new ones coming out now days! :)

agree! while i love the Hyper products, i hate the sprayers. hate. i think for someone using them all the time, maybe that would make a difference. for me, i've had nothing but problems. at first it was cool because i could meter it pretty well but eventually they just started causing problems. i'd have to prime them, waste a bunch of polish or compound, if they even worked at all.

i gave up on the sprayers a while ago and put the stuff in CarPro squeeze bottles with the anti-clog caps. it sucks because the sprays are so much more expensive per ounce than the 32 oz creams OPT offers.

i need to check to see if Compound II has been updated to match the new OHC because if so, this is the last sprayable version i'll own :)

The color change was more confusing--with the original Hyper Compound (well, not the original, the original was 10 years ago or something, I mean the original Hyper spray Compound) being blue, and then the Hyper Polish becoming blue when the Hyper Compound became Orange. As far as the names it's going to be really confusing on the forum when someone asks a question about Hyper Compound and we'll have to ask if they mean the blue, orange, or white (I don't think anyone remembers the old lotion Hyper Compound from 10 years ago).

I don't know about historically, but the current pricing (although complicated by the fact that the container sizes aren't the same) for gallons is the same. I mean yeah, the 18oz spray bottles are more expensive per ounce than the quarts of creme, but the 64 oz refills for the sprays are the same or in the ballpark of the quart price for the crèmes.

ahh ok. yeah i never get the big sizes of each because not only would it take a while to work through it, but with the product updates, i don't wanna be stuck with the old stuff! lol

Got a chance to use the new compound on a hood today, very nice product. Cuts FAST finishes really well, and wipes off like a breeze. So far, so good.
