Cleaning over 2000 miles of road grime

After driving over 2000 miles to attend the July Detailing Boot Camp, I had the task of cleaning all the road grime from my Black S60 Volvo. The car was a mess and needed to be cleaned, compounded and polished.

The car was washed using the aggressive method we learned in class, then was moved inside for all polisher work.

I didn't document as well as I would have liked, but do have decent before and after pics, but not as many in progress pics as I would have liked.

Here it is prior to cleaning.

And now the setup for washing. Products used for wheels and tires.

Car on ramps ready to clean wheels and tires. The ramps allow me to get the entire circumference of the tire without having to move it.

And the rest of the car.

Here is where I wish I had taken more pictures. I only after pics from this point forward. First the hood after compounding, polishing and a coat of Menzerna Power Lock.

I used FG400 to compound and FS4000 to polish. Compounding was done with an Orange Hybrid pad with my Flex 3401. Polishing was with a white pad and the Flex.

Thanks for taking the time to look and any comments are welcome.

Hi Walter,

Here's the two articles I was talking about that can help you when creating a post with or without pictures.

Of course they don't work in Google Chrome because Google Chrome doesn't offer you the ability to toggle between Code View and WYSIWYG.

That's why I continue to use IE as it's the only browser that takes advantage of all the features in vBulletin and I make a lot of post and post a lot of pictures so it is something I know just a little bit about. :D

How to use the "Editor Mode" to break a single quoted message up into smaller quoted sections

This article has screen shots that shows how I post multiple pictures fast. I created this BEFORE AG started watermarking the pictures so the URL code for the pictures will look different than it does today but it's the same idea.

Editor view of BB code behind multiple pictures

Check it out....

I love the ramp idea!

Thanks Mike. I actually got the idea from a thread here on tips and tricks. My brother and I tweaked them to what you see above. These are the second version.
