3D BDX Brake cleaner

Anyone else catch this?

In my profession, that would be deemed as off-label promotion and could land you in prison

This is obviously less serious

If it works as well as Sonax FE or Iron X at RTU strength... Great

If it still works as well at even a 1:1 dilution... Fantastic

I predict the video will be pulled and replaced

It was originally considered to be a 4:1 concentrate. That obviously didn't happen. The video that AG has is the original teaser video before the product was released. I can easily see where the confusion comes in. I agree more clarification is necessary.

Damn, I was really looking forward to diluting the product! And on top of that when I went to purchase it with the Labor deal this weekend, it went back up to $16.99!

Great product even at RTU cost. Least offensive odor, most bleeding aka color change(when compared to iron x, Griot's HD wheel cleaner, Dub wheel clean, and Sonax FE. I will be buying BDX exclusively as my wheel/fallout remover.

Most color change doesn't indicate more removal.

Case in point:
Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner:

Iron X:

Iron X had a lot more color change, but after spraying Iron X on the Adam's wheel, no color change occurred meaning Adam's was just as effective with much less color change.

This stuff is my new go to ferrous remover. Another great HD 3D product.

Ok, you Silver Fox, you. Let's have your lowdown on this. You have one other post in this thread and all it tells us is to use it RTU. Why is this your new go to product? Just curious, no malice intended. In fact I love your posts, keep it up. Take care.

Peace,

Darrin

Well it turns out they ran out of this stuff and they are sending me 2 bottles of Iron X instead

Iron-X = .92 per ounce
BDX = .63 per ounce

CORRECTION:

With the current sale AG is offing the price per ounce is actually less than .55 per ounce!!!!!

AGO,

Please remove the video from the BDX product page, it is deceptive marketing

Thanks

or rather than do that put a BOLD disclaimer above the video stating that it is Ready To Use (RTU) and should not be diluted... :)

I think the video is great and should stay, but a disclaimer in the product description is a good idea. At the end of the day, AG isn't out to wrong anyone. This whole issue was a tiny misunderstanding that thank god someone caught early on. I certainly hope this wouldn't stray people from trying this great product!

Used it this weekend on 2 different cars. Works fantastic. And smells 100x better than IronX

Better than Iron X? The same as Iron X? What's the consistency like? Does it foam at all? Just trying to figure out what makes this different if at all besides the smell.

No foam from what I remember. Similar consistency to IronX. Cleaned rims better than anything else I've ever used.

Paint was black so hard to judge but lots of purple flowed into the ground.

But will diluting it remove all contaminates on the first go or will a second round be needed?

Damn, I was really looking forward to diluting the product!

Nobody is saying you can't dilute BDX. You actually can, but we don't suggest doing it as cleaning times could be lengthened. We're not only interested in making products that work great, but also products that work quick. That's why we decided to come out with a RTU iron remover that not only was cost effective, but one that wasn't super offensive and worked better than the rest. But hey, if you have a set of wheels that get cleaned constantly, why not play with the dilutions to push your dollar.

So my question now is can I dilute Iron X? LoL I think I'll be fine with the two bottles they're sending me to replace the 3D.

Probably. I still haven't really gotten an answer on why the 3D product is better other than it is cheaper than Iron X, yet more expensive than what I currently which is just above $0.21 an ounce when diluted for paint use and is just as effective as Iron X. Is BDX more effective than Iron X?

It is on rims. Can't say for paint

I'd much rather have you try BDX and give us that feedback, but if you'd like my opinion, I personally feel is better/best because it works extremely quick, has a low odor, is super cost effective, can be used on pretty much all surfaces, is PH neutral and is made in the good ole USA by one of the industries leading car care companies!!

Ok, the one I use is low odor, pH neutral, made in the USA, can be used on all exterior surfaces, works quick enough, and is extremely cost effective. I guess my point is that there are so many of these products, they are starting to become like car shampoos where there are so many that only a few really stand out from the crowd and I'm just having trouble seeing what makes BDX stand out from the crowd.

I guess I just need to try it for myself.
