Aggressiveness of these Pads?

Okay lets make this easier...Anyone use any of the above pads care to share your experiences?

I use the Meguiars MF Cutting on my VW and love them. Very minimul hazing even when using m105. Also use the Meguiars cutting disc's on other vehicle and achieve same results. Love both pads.

I've only used the two microfiber cutting discs you mentioned. I find the Meguiar's to have a bit more cut, but the Buff and Shine pads are better pads because they are much more durable and I like that the fiber don't become matted as much/as easily.

Again though, if cut is all that matters, then the Meguiar's does have a bit more cut.

Yeah figured the Meguiars first and the Buff and Shine second would be more popular. The Carpro stuff looks very interesting. Also AG seems to have dropped the Scholls Concepts Spider sandwich white pad above, not sure why as who ever used them raved about them.

I have both MF pads and the car pro flash pad. The flash pad is a CUTTING MACHINE. Some people love the MF pads, for me, I seem to only deal with dark cars, and they leave a haze that needs followed up. The flash pad will for sure need a follow up as well. Also, the machine you are using will also come into play with what pads work best.

Are you saying the CarPro Flash cuts more than the MF's?

I think so, they can power through serious defects with ease.

Looks like you right. On the CarPro website the Flash pads have a cut of 8/8 and the Wool Ring a cut of 7/8.

My Go-To tool is a Rupes 21 with a 5" backing plate. If I'm doing a swirl job paint correction...

The CarPro Flash Pad 5" with Megs M101 corrects quickly and actually leave a fairly clean/clear finish.
(Depending on how you use the combo I might suggest adding a few drops of D300 to reduce dusting)
I usually follow that with the Carpro Gloss Pad and Reflect and I get very sharp results in a two step.

I'm going to recommend the Buff and Shine cutting microfiber. I do a lot of production jobs and my go to on anything lighter colored or with metallic is microfiber with FG400 then sealant. I absolutely love them on my Rupes 21.

Read some threads on the net where people didn't like Menzerna with MF pads, gummed up and didn't play well at all. Some stated Menz to work well with foam and wool not microfiber.

Menz, wool, rotary is what I use everyday on any kind of paint defects. I know it's the most aggressive approach but that is what I need.

A lot of times I need something more aggresive but I don't know what may be the next step in agrresivness.

I think about school concepts S0 before the compounding step, or machine sanding with 3000 before compounding step.

I was surprised when I read that carpro flash pads cut more than wool, must try these. I know that even the hardest foam pad can't cut more than wool, but these pads may be something different than others.

:wow:

It's 2011, anyone will say new car and it's not in need for heavy compunding, but even this combination menz, wool, and rotary was wery time consuming and needed 2/3 compunding steps. Imagine for older cars in my country where washing teqniques are very bad.

I agree, have done a few Mercedes 2011-2015 and Flex with orange hybrid and Menzerna FG400 with almost every technique would not work and after wipe downs the swirls would still stare at me as to mock me. I needed wool just to make any sort of difference hence this thread. Newer paints are hard and compounds and pads need to step up. I've been considering rotary, super aggressive pads and superior cutting compounds.

For me with this combination works, but the point is doing the job faster and easier, I need 3/4 days for this projects, a lot of compound spend, 2/3 compounding steps, and tired like crazy.

They had the white pads not more than a month ago in a 2-pack but they seem to have mysteriously disappeared:confused:
